This sudden collapse of the Republican image disturbs me |
|
I can not put my finger on it but something is very wrong. We are being misinformed on a grand scale, that's clear to see.
I am certain that the media polls are cooked. By 'media polls' I mean which ever ones are constantly cited by the 'news' shows on TV; these are the polls that show McCain and Obama more or less even. Nonsense. You have only to strike up a conversation with anyone on the street to know how bad things are for the Republicans. The people; you, me, the kid next door, and that other ethnic group on the other side of town or the other part of the state, we all get it. The tragedy which has been the Bush years has opened the eyes of lots of folks to the basic failings of the Republican ideology from Nixon until today. Never the less the news marches on. "McCain and Obama in a dead heat." It doesn't seem to make any difference just how bad the choices the Republican Party makes either. McCain doesn't have much of anything going for him and his pick for VP is astoundingly foolish. All of this but something's not right. Why aren't the elite of the Republican Party panicking? They certainly should be. They have eyes to see and ears to hear - more than are legal actually - they have to know. Still, you see no revolt anywhere in their leadership. Those people are far to self-centered to go down with the ship but I don't even see them manning the lifeboats. I don't understand it but it feels vaguely threatening. I do not trust those bastards at any level.

1. remember how the exit polls in 2004 were "corrected" |
|
I think that the numbers are being spun to minimize their losses, they are afraid the GOP limo is going to do a Thelma and Louise. Why worry now, they have been driving w/o looking where they were going since 2000.

3. Magoo is showing obvious early signs of dementia |

and has now picked a wildly unqualified, hymn singing beauty queen for a running mate.
I continue to be shocked that the RNC hasn't pulled the plug on this sham of a candidacy.
I know they're resigned to losing this time, but I can't believe they want to be humiliated.
As for the news machine, they're under orders from their corporate bosses who fear Democrats and the loss of their near monopolies.

9. You and I seem to agree on every point - including the mystery |
|
Hymn singing beauty queen, yep, you got that one right. How on earth the the RNC let that one slip through? You're dam right the corporate bosses have their thumb on the news to their own advantage and they certainly know what's coming. So we both stand in wonder - I can't believe they will allow themselves to be humiliated either. They know you can rebound from a simple defeat in 4 years, but if the Party is shown to be a fraud it will be a long time before they have such a sturdy vehicle for their return again. I don't understand why they haven't stopped the nonsense that is the McCain campaign. Its bewildering. These are not stupid people. They will not commit suicide and they will never fall on their own sword.

The same bunch of super rich who run things now are not scared because they are busy "buying" those in congress who now have the power, democrats! All we have to do is look at the lack of leadership by the leaders on congress. Money talks, and if we want real change we need to not only get Obama elected, but start voting out those in congress on both sides that are not working for the people, but are working for the big corporations that have all the money!

4. I know alot of working people who still prefer McCain to any dem including Obama |
|
and they are not racist. Some prefer republican policies others may not agree with McCain but they feel they know what they are getting. They don't feel like they know what Obama will do when he gets in office.
This election is not and is unlikely to be a cakewalk. Dems don't engender more trust than repubs if you look at the approval ratings of congress.

I know who they will be voting for by November after the barrage of McCain hugging Bush ads you are about to see.
Its going to be a landslide for Barack.

I know quite a few people who plan (or are at least considering) voting for McCain. It's always shocking to hear it, but McCain does have supporters.

machines would not allow a voter to vote for kerry and kept showing vote for bush, regardless of retries is just nit picking. starting two weeks before election and thru out early voting adn on election day the machines continued to do this to everyones surprise was just a bunch of democratic whining.
