I've been thinking that god must have been royally pissed at the fundies asking him/her to send rain on Obama. God prolly said "You want rain? I'll give ya rain!"

Heh. Just sayin'...

1. Of course not...
...unless Gustav travels all the way up the Mississippi and maintains enough strength to hit the Republican convention in St. Paul as a Category 1. That would be the cue that the great I AM really has it in for the old fart and his little friends.

6. Yeah, and it'll mean he has it in for all the people in the region, too.
You know, folks, catatstrophic storms are NOT divine punishment for ANYONE's sins...ours OR theirs. When we imply they are, we stoop to their level.

Sheesh.

10. Excellent response
I deliberately chose an event so improbable as to be ridiculous.

I still remember the irony of Hurricane Bonnie slamming into Pat Robertson's hometown after he threatened Disney World with divine punishment for "Gay Days."

2. I just don't think God would put thousands of people in peril just to punish
the fundies. Now, a direct tornado on top of Rove's house...that would be another matter.

I fear for the Gulf Coast people - this is no joke, this is a potentially catastrophic situation, and we all here should hope and pray that somehow Gustav turns away or diminishes.

3. No, they'll just say it's further proof that God hates the sinful city of New Orleans
This isn't rocket science.

4. You bet it will....
With any luck, there will be a split screen with Gustav, and the convention. Imagine the thought in people's minds, if they saw Dumbya speaking at the convention, while people in the Gulf drown!

5. No.
Weather is a function of wind, pressure, temperature, moisture and chaos. If the fundies knew that they wouldn't look so foolish using prayer as a weapon against a political party.

7. It's deplorable to cheer on a killer storm for politics
We as Democrats are better than that. We shouldn't stoop to the Repuke's level just because they made some low-class remarks regarding the weather for our convention.

Besides, the GOP convention already had all the elements to be a natural disaster in its own right.

8. I'll ask my sister in New Orleans about your karma theory...
and get back to ya on that.

9. The conventioneers can leave (or not go). Real people live there
and may be killed, hurt and/or lose property. Let's not wish this storm any power.
