4. It hasn't hit the really hot water yet. The Gulf is quite warm 85+ this year. |
|
It hasn't entered the gulf yet.

12. Tornados are measured on the F (Fujita?) scale |
|
Hurricanes are assigned a category.
All the models show it skirting SW of NO. Bad news, because the bigest surge is in the NE quadrant.
Um, I think it's Mayor Nagin.

13. Water in the Gulf is always warmer. We lived in Key Largo when Katrina went over us, then hit the |
|
gulf and turned into a monster.

IIRC anything below 1000 is super serious. 935 is way below.

They think it could intensify to a category 5 in the Gulf. I'm watching the weather channel. Heavy rainfall in the Keys which are getting the outer legs of the hurricane. The eye is going to cross Cuba's western end.
Hurrican Hannah building too.

10. Only FEMA is calling it a cat 5, everyone else still has it at a 4 |
|
No one should be taking any note of what clueless FEMA is doing when there are plenty of knowledgeable sources available.

11. FEMA has improved somewhat since they took the "Fashion God" out of there |
|
Let's hope they do a better job this time. With the GOP convention happening, I can't believe they wouldn't.
