If you're in NOLA or Gulf Coast area, my husband just got activated to come help you! |
|
In the event that Gustav does what they say he will. :scared:
He's a National Guard member and got the call this morning. He doesn't know when he leaves yet and he only knows he will be going to the Gulf Coast area. He could be gone for 30 days. We will be sad to see him leave, but we are happy he is helping out the citizens of our country who need him.
We'll be praying for you! :hi:

He doesn't read DU, but he likes hearing some of the things I read. When I post about him he likes hearing the responses. :D

3. My prayers go out to your husband and everyone on the Gulf Coast |
|
And, yes, if I were a National Guard member, I'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to go and help my fellow Americans in a time of need. (That's what the National Guard is really for, after all -- guarding our country!)

I hope the hurricane does wind down to a dull roar like that other map predicts.

It's hard to be without your partner. We are hoping the storm will hit hardest in some less developed place. Louisianans have had their share.

This will be the first time since he came home from Iraq that he will be activated. I will be fine, but our 6 y/o automatically thinks he will be gone a loooong time. She's the one I'm worried about.
I certainly am hoping this storm dies down, as I'm sure you are, too!

Most of the people he was in Iraq with are also out. His term is up in '09, but he wants to reup so that he can become a Warrant Officer. I'm hoping by then that we are out of the mess in Iraq!

My sincerest admiration to you and your husband. Families like yours making sacrifices to help the citizens of this country are the REAL patriots. May all the volunteers and response people be safe and come home soon.

The funny (as in weird, not ha ha) thing is that I had a dream (O.K., nightmare) two day ago that he had been activated to go back to Iraq. When he answered the phone this morning and I heard "Alert notification" I just about passed out!
I can handle this one. :D

Gee, I didn't think we had any National Guard in the USA...I thought they were all on their 5th tour, or whichever.
Thank you too for the sacrifices you and your loved ones have made. I know, we don't tell you often enough, but we sure think it.

I'm sure things will be handled in a much better fashion this time around. Especially with the convention being right around the corner.

This will be his first active domestic call in the five years he's been in the guard. Kinda tells ya something, huh?
