I can't believe Jon Voight ever had the insight to portray Luke Martin

I think of that monologue he performed at the end of Coming Home and wonder, what happened to the guy who was able to portray the humanity and sensitivity of that character. Guess it got pummelled out of him in the Champ.

And even the actor - it's just so hard to imagine all the things he said about his character and the war, he could support the candidate that supports another mistake.

No wonder his daughter, someone I think is pretty terrific, won't have anything to do with him.
