looking for McCain/Palin souvenirs (when Palin decides she needs to "spend more time with her family" I'll sell them on eBay for Obama).
Dem campaign headquarters are always in a storefront with a zillion phone lines going this way and that, people going in and out, handing you food/coffee/phone lists. Fun vibe.
This was creepy--think lawyer's office meets church. Oak paneling everywhere, with huge framed portraits of St. Ronnie, St. Nancy, and St. W. And one coiffed receptionist in a suit.
Now I must take a shower.

the McCain/Palin stuff won't be in for a week, and IMO her candidacy won't last that long. So now it looks like I'll have to pay for it online.

committee, from the big corporate donations, and are there year round.
In my area, a women is PAID by the RNC to hold monthly meetings in her livingroom.

They must have spent $80,000 on the furnishings alone.

8. I've worked a few fairs & festivals for the Democrats here in Seattle |
|
& the Republican booths all seem verrrrrrryyy lonely
but that's a good idea, we should grab up all that memorabilia while we can -- and sell it on e-bay to clueless right wingers (maybe after the election?)

9. it's usually pretty normal here, a storefront like ours |
|
I am not sure they have opened yet though. I used to visit them sometimes when they were down the street from us. Opposition research and all. Heck, I thought it would be nice if we had some big pictures of FDR, Truman and Kennedy.
Depending on where they are, they might have to take whatever space they can find. This year I kinda wanted to take a space next to the local college even though it was an office with kinda small display windows.
As for the 'receptionist', ours is staffed by volunteers, some who dress and act differently than others. It is often kinda slow too. This year though we have a paid organizer from the DNC so things are much different. If you are in a Democratic stronghold then the Republicans may be kinda struggling.
