How is it that we find ourselves here, today?
There is NO EARTHLY REASON for this race to be closer than ten points. Yet, here we are. Just barely out of the margin of error in some polls, and within it in others.

13. For one thing we need to have a concentrated effort to at a minimum
break up the media monopolies. One of the best things in this area is to simply get OBAMA in and get change at the FCC. I would so love to see Michael Copp head up the FCC (or Adelstein for that matter). Both have come out very strongly for breaking up the media ownership.
Beyond that - I don't know. We are working on acquiring a radio station.
Maybe joining freepress.net and do some activism?

8. Just pray to whatever higher power or whatever you believe in.
After all didn't H. L. Mencken say "never underestimate the stupidity of the American people".

I didn't watch the speech last night. I decided to watch The Last Hurrah and The Candidate on TCM, so I didn't see or hear what that woman had to say. I figured before the speech it was going to be nothing but verbal diarrhea and it looks like I was right.

If the American people are stupid enough to put McCain and Palin in a position that is close enough to steal another election from the Democrats, KKKarl and his minions will do it without hesitation. God help Americans if that happens. You think 8 years of Bush/Cheney were bad, wait until you see the act that follows it.

My entire thesis in this thread is rhetorical. I'm intending to be sarcastic toward the high roaders.

5. IDIOCRACY - Rent It. Watch It. Understand that this movie illustrates where the US is today

12. Damn movie is a documentary....
What we have here is a country deeply divided between the 12th century and the 21st... between the faith-based and the reality-based.

We're losing.

14. I completely agree...the intelligent and informed group is losing, and we are
scorned and ridiculed for asking questions, while the masses lap up this river of bullshit, nod, drool, and stumble through life.

6. We are here because it seems that we are here..
Two groups of people are not counted in these polls.
..A. People without land lines.
..B. People without phones.

Get these people to vote, and the race is not closer than ten points.

So the issue is to get these people to vote. They will vote for us.

we have been living with the consequences of that the last decade.

But then, the media also gets Democrats to turn around and blame their nominees instead, as they are let off the hook for their constant avalanche of lies against honest men. They know some Democrats are easily distracted and will blame whoever media and high paid 'strategists' tell them to blame.

15. Not enough focus on the ECONOMY, which is voters' #1 issue.
Obama's economic policy set by his Chicago school advisers--the proles are understandably not enthused by a promise of incremental change in economic policy...
