VP hopeful Palin attended 5 colleges in 6 years

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended five colleges in six years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987.

Federal privacy laws prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades, and none of the schools contacted by The Associated Press could say why she transferred. There was no indication any of them were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCain's campaign.

-long snip of the school history-

The University of Idaho is taking advantage of Palin's nomination. A prominent photograph of her is featured on the school's Web site.

4. I looked her up on Wikipedia a few days ago. I 'think' wiki reported
four schools and even that sent up a red flag to me. Why? Did she flunk out of each? Or was she so-o indecisive she didn't get her act together? I can't remember what she did the two years between graduation and marrying 1st dude....probably moose hunting.

6. loner?
I doubt it was her grades maybe she was just an outcast who needed to find her place... Now look at her, she is hanging out with guys 28 years older than her. People her own age ostracize her.(probably for good reason)

This is the fourth or fifth time I've seen a posting on this. And I haven't gotten a previous answer.

Is it better or worse to have declared 4 different majors in 6 years? I've advised undergrads for 3 decades and although I have an opinion, I honestly don't know what would be the popular answer or the real predicitive meaning of such a record.

I think the issues that I can try to assess are
1) the quality of the formal and informal education she has acquired (and you can acquire a crappy education from a wonderful institution and a great informal understanding of things).
2) how she has incorporated her education to make herself more effective in her various activities.
3) whether or not she recognizes and respects the educations and informed opinions of people around her.
4) if she is educated enough to be linguistically and logically adept in understanding the sophisticated legal language and implications of bills, treaties, and legal opinions that she will need to make create informed opinions.

At this point I think the answer to 1 is more unknown than in doubt. The answer to 2 is maybe, she is a decent reader of a teleprompter, and she may be a good public speaker as a consequence of her major. The answer to 3 seems to be no. She has ignored the advice of police officials and librarians to achieve outcomes she seeks. And the answer to 4 also seems to be no. She has either misunderstood or intentionally ignored the meaning and implications of formal declarations of laws, rules, and contract agreements with a union, and these have contributed to the charges of misuse and abuse of power now held against her and her administration (acknowledging that these charges aren't yet proven). Much of what I've read about her judgement seems to fall back not on her education but onto sterotypical affirmations of rightwing religious ideology, then again much of what I've read comes via DU.
