George Bush was/is a false Christian. He had a come to Jesus moment some years ago when his boozing threatened to unravel his worthless life. He copped the Jesus plea. Which is often the life-long fuck-up's equivalent of an Alford plea. (Look it up)

Many of us have had such moments. More than a few times, when I was young and *very* stupid, I would get so slammin' drunk that the bed just kept rotating like Dorothy on her way to the Emerald City. More times than not, I'd swear to dear sweet Jesus that if he rescued me and made the bed stop, I'd go to Mass that coming Sunday. But I was lying and Jesus knew it. He slowed the bed down, chuckled, and then left me to my vomit and hangover. Next day, I'd always look up, chuckle back at Jesus, and say, you knew I was full of shit, right? And he'd nod in the affirmative.

George is a Christian in that same sense. His 'conversion' lasted longer than mine did, probably. But it was no different. He long ago stopped being a christian except as it serves his best interest to be one.

For all his religioblather, Rowe is still the law and the Dominionists, while given more than they'd ever gotten before, are still sitting at the children's table for dinner.

Palin on the other hand, is THE REAL DEAL. A no bullshit Dominionist. A fully committed soldier in the Army Of God. Hellbent on religious absolutism as the Law Of The Land. A woman who would see her children's uterii the chattel of men.
