Palin Is More and Less Than She Seems
I just found this article about Caribou Barbie that has a pix of the caribou she just shot (I hope the pix of this comes out right) and there's also 2 polls on this site..and as you can imagine, it tells how she juggles her time being a mom, governor, and what other things she's involved in, just an adoring super-mom...ya right! She's a piece of work!

Palin Is More and Less Than She Seems

WASILLA, Alaska (Sept. 6) - The mother kneels in the snow, cheerfully posing beside her bundled up daughter, behind the bloody, dead caribou the mom just shot. Maybe not your typical family photo. But that's Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the disarming mom who's not afraid to carry arms or use them.

The woman who would be a heartbeat away from the presidency if John McCain wins in November has transfixed much of the nation with her complexities. Above, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin kneels beside one of her daughters and a caribou she shot in Alaska.

-snip-
She switches back and forth between mother and governor without a blink. But details of her life that have emerged under the glare of national attention show that she's a complicated politician. She's disarming and accessible for some, vindictive and hard toward others. She has many loyal friends, tremendous hometown support, and a few fierce enemies.
This week, her lawyer is scrambling to sidetrack an ethics investigation into whether she abused her power as governor to pressure officials to fire her sister's ex-husband, a state trooper who had been disciplined for drinking beer in his patrol car, illegally shooting a moose and firing a Taser at his 11-year-old stepson.

-snip-
When she ran for mayor, John Stein, her opponent, said Palin had brought into the campaign his "alleged stance on gun control and abortion, even why his wife had a different last name than him," the paper reported.
Palin promised to cut government. In office, part of her refashioning included a loyalty test, in which she asked the city's top managers to resign unless they would work with her new administration.

-snip-
Police Chief Irl Stambaugh, who had supported Palin's opponent, lasted several months before he was fired. Palin denied that the firing was politically motivated, saying only, "You know in your heart when someone is supportive of you."

-snip-
Anne Kilkenny, a Wasilla local who grew up with Palin and whose critical essay about her has circulated internationally in the media and on the Web, said her appointment is stunning.

1. a few fierce enemies
Then it's time for her to met us, Obama supporters who care about our families. Especially this mother who has two daughters in college.

4. You've got that right...
interesting how they're pulling impt info from the net about her, pix of her during "her pregnancy" and the articles where her co-workers during various stages didn't show her "bump"..The repugs and her attys she hired are going to the people who know things about the family to shut them up, but some are not cooperating with them..I guess we should get the popcorn ready.

6. She's flip-flopping
all around. I can imagine her telling McCain what to do..I think there's a lot going on in Alaska right now. Aren't they flying around today? I wonder if they're going to keep the media and Obama/ Biden people away from her?

7. Her fiercest enemies in Alaska are in her own party.
I've already read posts on the Anchorage Daily News website where several of them are thinking of voting the Libertarian ticket. It should be an interesting November.

9. Indeed...
don't forget the R's are already on the ground going after the people who have something to say..some are afraid of repercussions..but there will always be someone to speak up..and what about Bristol's mom? She didn't comment a word when the reporter asked her about her son and Bristol..I guess the barracuda told him he had to be on stage because he's the daddy?, and most likely will a shotgun wedding? What's the word on this in Alaska?

10. Do you mean Levi's mom?
I really haven't been paying much attention to what's going on with Levi and Bristol, but my guess is that pressure to marry is coming from the Palin side. It wasn't generally known here that Brisol was even pregnant, much less that a wedding was in the works. If you peruse the progressive Alaskan blogs, someone there might know. Check out http://www.progressivealaska.blogspot.com/ and the other progressive blogs listed on the right-hand side.

11. Yes...
I've been reading the different sites and papers in Alaska..people are talking..and there was an article and pix of his mom when this all started...then within a day, they had him dressed up and at the convention, uncomfortable as ever...
Start copying the articles and whatever you find because they're removing things from the web, including their myspace sites and all..
