Are they currently ironing out major policy differences between McCain and Palin? |
|
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 01:55 PM by jpgray
I think McCain's support for stem-cell / fetal tissue research is going to be a major stumbling block, and most potentially damaging for his base support. Next, I think his support for rape / incest abortion exceptions is also guaranteed to stir up divisions in the GOP's religious base. Will questions be asked on these issues? Whose view will bow to the other's? Is a compromise palatable on these "values" issues? What are some other future conflicts you foresee between their respective records and stances?

2. But a lot of the base's excitement is predicated on those troglodyte positions |
|
To sustain even a pretense of viability among independents, I can't see McCain aping Palin's positions. And if she caves to his more "moderate" views, what does that tell the GOP base? What does it say for her credibility and "maverick" qualities?

There is no policy differences because the GOP is running this campaign.
Neither politician on the ticket can face the press without gaffes (for the top of their ticket) or scandals (the bottom of the ticket).
So, the GOP's plan is to stall until they can set up their terror scare just before the election, the GOP-controlled media sleeper cell has orders to dump every scandal involving Dems that they haven't reported all year.
Yes, the GOP want to win, but once they get into office they don't know how to govern.
We can't allow them to take these positions of power they are obviously not able to handle.

6. Yes, Wolfslayer Barbie is telling McGigolo how things are going to be. |
|
It's pellucidly clear who is creating more excitement on the GOP ticket.
Wolfslayer Barbie holds all the cards and McThuselah holds none.
I actually feel a touch of sorrow for McGigolo, he has sold his soul for a shot at the presidency and is now having chunks taken out of his ass by Wolfslayer Barbie.
