A bird in hand is worth two in the bush
The best laid schemes o’ mice and men often go astray

A man can bring a horse to the water,
But he cannot make him drink

When I see a bird that walks like a duck and swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, I call that bird a duck.

Every dog has his day.

What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog.

When the cat's away the mice will play.

And, John McCain is mad as a march hare.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain speaks during a rally in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, September 9, 2008.
