I think the RW might have been caught off guard by the media actually DOING ITS JOB |
|
on the whole "pig" thing.
The responses by GOP shills on the cable networks tonight have been especially sheepish.
I really think these bastards expected a free pass.

2. They expected the MSM to beat the drums for them |
|
I think they really believed that the media would be all over Obama and banging the drums for him to "apologize."
They are probably shocked that they were called out on it.

3. Or has the Dems left the media some where else to go for news |
|
The Whitehouse has used "restricting access" to reward or punish media reporters. Now with Obama, if the McSame camp tries to limit media access they can just go to the Obama camp.

5. What's weird is that the MSM actually getting off its ass is all the GOP's fault |
|
You don't bitchslap the MSM and not expect it to ream you a good one in return. They don't really appreciate that. And it's kinda a stupid move to pull for people who are supposed to be such experts at campaigning.

that is why we need to BOYCOTT tomorrow's sham of an interview which is designed to make her "star". she will have pre-read the questions and her people will tell CG what he can ask and not ask. She has all the control because it was shot over 3 days, meaning if she didn't like how he treated her, she wouldn't come back. All of the networks wanted this ratings coup, so that means they soft pedal it to get the "get".
If they get the ratings, this tactic will have worked.
PLEASE ask everyone you know to Boycott this piece of pork.
I keep posting this and no one replies- I hope that is because they wouldn't dream of watching it, knowing we can watch it here when it hits youtube if WE NEED to, which we don't.
A smart move would be to only watch when Obama is on -- then they know they can let the McCain camp boycott them and still get the ratings. Plus, they can continue to do their job like they did today.
Wasn't it refreshing to finally see some sanity?

I'll watch it for the same reason I watched her speech at the convention. Its easier to explain to people why its BS if you've seen it. I read that they found space on the plane for Entertainment Tonight's crew... Still zero unscripted statements. http://palincounter.blogspot.com/

Ha ha....who's the celebrity now, McLame???? What a joke!
That is pathetic, actually.
What a sad day in America. She won't talk to the PRESS but she'll talk to the celebrity interviewers who abide by the laws in celeb world (only pre-approved questions!) with the goal being "make me a star or die!"
You are free to watch it. I think their spin and bs is tiresome and quickly becoming irrelevant.

worry about in 2004....not to mention many more progressive talk radio shows, more established & viewed Internet blogs, more effective use of YouTube, more efficient news print with progressive writers, mass emailings instantly reporting the facts and the republicans bullshit, as well as popular forums like DU getting the word out and the facts out right away!
All of this combined has put a nice little kink in the republicans huge media machine and they fucking hate it, cry about it and want to destroy it!!

14. If the media had been doing its job, we wouldn't be drowning |
|
in Pig/Lipstick posts and it would have been what it is, a non-issue. They should have dismissed it as the attention grabbing distraction that it is and then held both sides to discuss important issues.

16. I think the shameless arrogance of the McCain campaign... |
|
...withholding Palin from the press like some kind of punishment, is really starting to piss them all off. As it should. Don't know how long it's going to last, but at least for now, SOME of them are inching towards fairness... crawling... slowly. It must be painful for them. :eyes:

18. Now Gramps Stands Naked |
|
I know it's an ugly visual, but I have to do what I have to do to get noticed around here these days
Without his meal ticket, Gramps now has to find a way to stay relevent in his own party and race. He'll probably think he needs to shake things up and then get ready for the fun. Gramps not only is a terrible speaker, he shoots first and thinks (if its possible) later...letting go with a gaffe...and I expect a whopper to be coming from him.
The GOOP got too smart by half...they thought they could job the refs (corporate media) and force Obama into going after Palin (the pig shit was a last gasp attempt at doing that)...now Grandma Bacaruda's scandals and shallow experience are gonna take a toll. While the expectations for her are low, what she says won't be. She can't use the same old lines anymore and any shot that doesn't score a direct hit will either be ignored or backfired. Lying won't cut it anymore either as she went to that well seven times too many...and she has no real friends. The GOOP spinners are also on their own now as they aren't used to getting pummeled like they have been...and how much enthusisasm can a bobblehead have when they know they're gonna get pounced on. It's making going to work harder and harder for them.
Senator Obama has withstood another test...and didn't bite. He reminds me of Jackie Robinson in many ways...getting taunted, yet getting the big play that turned more heads than if he had gone after the cranks in the stands. But this election is still far from over.
Now, he has to seal the deal...using both the debates and the large money to blitz the airwaves to make people want to vote for him rather than against Gramps. All he needs to do is show he's a cool customer (which he has done many times) and turn the argument on Gramp's judgement (and the corporate media may even help in that matter). Palinpalooza is starting to wind down and it's turned into a one-trick pony.
