Olmert to AIPAC: Early Iraq withdrawal will cause regional instability
I believe that this deals directly with US policy, and is not in relation to Israel/Palestine conflict, so should remain in the general discussion area, in my opinion.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert spoke to AIPAC's (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) Washington policy conference via video link from Israel on Monday, warning that a quick US withdrawal from Iraq would cause instability in the Middle East.

He also said that an immediate withdrawal would compromise the US' ability to contend with emerging threats, such as Iran, Ynetnews reported.

The Prime Minister said, "Those who are concerned for Israel's security, for the security of the gulf states, and for the stability of the entire Middle East should recognize the need for American success in Iraq, and responsible exit."

So here we have the official word that it is Israeli policy, and aipac policy, that the US keep troops in Iraq for the sake of "regional security"

4. I think Israel has its hands full with one occupation already.... 40 years long...
but yu think if they thought it so important, they could give us armored vehicles instead of selling them at a profit.

9. It might be fair to bring up that at the moment, only Israel has nukes in the ME
The Middle East should be free of all nuclear weapons.
