The Democratic Party is alive and well to me |
|
With all of its problems there is lively debate and ultimately a realization that all opinions matters. Where dissent and disgreement is not an option you will find Republicans.
You don't like the direction? Wait a week it will change. If you can't afford to wait. See ya.

How do you defend that the dems have removed a clause from the upcoming military spending bill that would require Bush to come to Congress before invading Iran in order to protect AIPAC?

7. For all of it's faults, I do think the Democratic party is our best hope |
|
And not everything has been bad. We've seen some positive things come out of it over the past few months. But our work has just begun. I never thought that once they took Congress everything would be okay. We still need to get out in the streets and campaign for real change. But I believe we need to work within the Democratic Party, not abandon it.

11. The Democratic party in the house and senate have done some wonderful things since |
|
taking power only a month and a half ago. We have also had more foucsed hearings on Iraq, Walter Reed, and a variety of issues. There are too many people who think things can just be done over night and if it isn't they will pick up there marbles and go home. Most of them are not Democrats anyway.

12. The Dems in power will change their tune if we just wait? |
|
fat chance. Their interests lie with the rich and powerful and no one else. They are a bourgeois party that doesn't really care about the vast majority of the people.
Have fun waiting, we'll be trying to make real change.

17. Depends on many factors |
|
however, the fact is that participation in the electoral system will not help us one bit. We need to build a movement in opposition to the present system and then make changes from the bottom up.
You could start by looking at groups such as IWW, SPUSA, CPUSA, RCP, FPM and others.

or are you just going to make ludicrous claims?
By the way, Marxists actually analyze how society works and what relationships people and classes have to one another, something that is dreadfully lacking in America today.
