Gay Political Football....Repukes First and Ten.... |
|
Here we are again...coming up on a major election and the only thing that the Republicans have to run on is the inherent homophobia that runs rampant in society.
In recent days there have been numerous "gay" related statements by various leaders that and creating a stream of distraction for the American public to fish from. They have picked up the fumbled pink football from the Democrats and they are running with it.
As we approach the election we will see the Republicans and Christian right push the only plank they have left...The Anti-Gay everything plank...and they will beat the American public with it over and over and over again with glee.
So it is time. Time for social justice to once again show it's bad timing for the conservatives.
It is time for ALL gay people to be heard. No more waiting and standing in the shadows for someone else to stand up for us. WE ALL HAVE TO STAND UP...and point at these haters....and say:
"I am here. Look at ME. I am not a problem...you ARE THE PROBLEM. Get the hell out of my bedroom, STAY OUT AND SHUT UP!"

I really think the reason so many of them are against gay marriage is because it shows that gays can have committed, long term relationships. And we can't have that. Gays have to be shown to be people who want to attack others (especially children) any time and any place--otherwise, they become human, and even sympathetic characters.
I've known homosexuals all my life, and have never had a lesbian hit on me. I am touched when I see the biography of actors like Raymond Burr, who had a long term loving relationship--and am sad that he couldn't "come out" during his lifetime because it would have ruined his career. People are people--the more ways we can show this, the better.

2. Can you help me understand why the Gays in the military stay |
|
in and why they continue to fight this horrible war.
I read today that there are about 65,000 Gays in the military and they have to fight this war and listen to these EVIL statements that are beyond scum of the earth.
What I want to understand is why they can't declare they are GAY and walk OUT.
If the rule is "don't ask, don't tell" why can't they TELL now and really show these Scumbags how evil their rules are ~

7. What if they are fighting in Iraq and they are living |
|
in fear of their life everyday.
Why should they have to take this abuse from senior officials?
If my child was in that situation I would do whatever I needed to do to get him/her home safely.
Why should they dedicate their life to an organization which sees them as less than "moral.?"

8. They decicate their lives in service to our country, |
|
not to the organization. As hard as it may be to understand, my aunt, who is gay, served way back when women were still called WACS. They were treated pretty badly too from many of her stories (black ppl were treated much worse too). I asked her why she'd take that abuse from men who didn't want her there. She said she wasn't serving THEM. She was standing up for this country. What this country aspires to be (not what it is*) is what many of them are probably staying for.
* Our founding forefathers left the Constitution open for the Bill Of Rights to come into play. It aint' over yet. The idea behind America is not about what it is, but what it apsires to be. That's worth standing for and fighting for.
I cannot speak for them, but I can relay the answer my aunt gave me to a similar question for maybe some understanding from one perspective.

4. Take heart, though, because (I really believe this) |
|
a tipping point has been passed, a point at which most ordinary Americans know someone who is gay, and have had to give up the idea that gays deserve some kind of ostracism. Fearmongers pushing this point are betting this tipping point hasn't occurred, but I reckon they've misjudged it.

5. Wouldn't be great if we have a 65,000 Gay Mutiny |
|
if all 65,000 gay folks said, fuck it, we're outta here, we're not putting our lives on the lines for asshole bigoted Generals who can't find a WMD if it bit them in the ass.
we're outta here...
wouldn't it be great if gay folk had that much courage to "JUST SAY NO" to the drug of government that would rather commit gay genocide than thank a gay soldier for serving his/her country?
Where are the hollywood liberals? Protecting their hollywood movie contracts?

6. Get the hell out of my bedroom, get the hell out of my LIFE |

They always want to make it just about sex and that's only a tiny fraction of it. After all, is being a heterosexual only about sex? Of course it isn't. They need to be told loud and clear to mind their own business unless they want people examining their lives with the exact same sort of microscope they try to examine other peoples' lives with. And they always have skeletons in their closets despite their claims of purity and righteousness.

9. Hate and greed are their two core values. |

It really is way past time for the GOP to STFU and get on with life, the religious-wackos too. Get over yourselves, no one gives a rats ass about what you do in private. Just the government, who you all support like...something I can't even describe. Shut the fuck up about other peoples lives! Try and have one for a change!
