But guys in thousand dollar suits, with diamond-studded pinkie rings steal MILLIONS/BILLIONS/TRILLIONS, bankrupt our whole financial system, and then rob our grandchildren of any security they might have had....and we "should not blame anyone"??

The cornerstone of our justice system is BLAME... Who did it..how did they do it..who should sit on juries to judge them..what sentence should they receive..which prison should they serve their sentence in..should they get parole..should they get probabtion..

The ONLY difference between 1929 and NOW is that the media we have now, is full of friendly, perky, chirpy attractive blonde women on tv who are smiling at us and chattering with each other..they are smiling and talking in soothing tones, telling us to calm down..everything will be just fine....

Back then, people "knew in their guts" that something was very rotten, and they acted on those instincts. The media that existed then consisted of real newsmen who told the facts, and those facts were pretty scary. It turned out to be a panic, but at least it was all out in the open, and new laws were put into place to prevent another one...

Until...Republicans thought most people had forgotten, had never been taught about it in school, so they never knew, or were too old to care all that much...so they gleefully dismantled the safeguards to prevent another "meltdown", "crunch", "bubble", "blip". "correction", "adjustment".... whatever they are calling it today..

So the ones who "did this", will skate..again.. Who could have imagined that planes would fly into tall buildings bankers/ stockbrokers/ wall-street gamblers would cheat ordinary people out of their money..:eyes:

Whomever becomes president-elect in November will have a big ole plate of steaming F-YOU, waiting for him. More than a TRILLION dollars to add to the buckets of F-YOU Wars these ignorant republicans have stowed in the hall closet.

All these "financial institutions" had boards of directors, and CEOs, and CFOs.. EVERY ONE of those people who were compensated with more than $250K, should be forced to give up all assets over that amount. Those assets should be sold at auction..or... "Let's put 'em on Ebay"..:)

When a drug dealer gets caught, he gets his assets siezed.. When someone stiffs the IRS, they get their assets seized.. Why should these scammers, cheats & frauds be allowed to sink our financial system, ruin families finances, bankrupt companies, and boost unemployment, just sail off into the sunset on their yacht..never looking back... as they cruise to the Caymans to visit their loot?

2. That's nothing.

The other day, on CNN, I watched a low speed chase of 20 squad cars. They finally rammed his SUV, flipped it, then tear gassed him out. What did he do? HE ROBBED A BANK. Probably got no more than ten grand. Will go to jail for 20 years. Just goes to show that the best way to rob a bank is to own one.

4. I'm right there with ya. The guillotines should be in for sharpening..

...the nooses should be being prepared.

But instead, not one of the wealthy septic-tanks responsible for this will ever see so much as a day in the local jail.

Instead, these guys will go on living their pampered lives while the rest of us bail their asses out.

7. Pretty Boy Floyd
See next to last verse!

Lyrics as recorded by Woody Guthrie, RCA Studios, Camden, NJ, 26 Apr 1940, released on "Dust Bowl Ballads," transcribed by Manfred Helfert.

If you'll gather 'round me, children,
A story I will tell
'Bout Pretty Boy Floyd, an outlaw,
Oklahoma knew him well.
It was in the town of Shawnee,
A Saturday afternoon,
His wife beside him in his wagon
As into town they rode.

There a deputy sheriff approached him
In a manner rather rude,
Vulgar words of anger,
An' his wife she overheard.

Pretty Boy grabbed a log chain,
And the deputy grabbed his gun;
In the fight that followed
He laid that deputy down.

Then he took to the trees and timber
To live a life of shame;
Every crime in Oklahoma
Was added to his name.

But a many a starving farmer
The same old story told
How the outlaw paid their mortgage
And saved their little homes.

Others tell you 'bout a stranger
That come to beg a meal,
Underneath his napkin
Left a thousand dollar bill.

It was in Oklahoma City,
It was on a Christmas Day,
There was a whole car load of groceries
Come with a note to say:

Well, you say that I'm an outlaw,
You say that I'm a thief.
Here's a Christmas dinner
For the families on relief.

Yes, as through this world I've wandered
I've seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.

And as through your life you travel,
Yes, as through your life you roam,
You won't never see an outlaw
Drive a family from their home.

8. A rhyme from the Fourteenth Century: The Law will hang the man or woman
Who steals a goose from off the Common,
But lets the greater villain loose
Who steals the Common from the Goose.

9. What weapon did the 7-11 robber use?
Did he pose an immediate threat to the life of the cashier?

No excuse for white collar crime but the details are necessary in this case.
