And it does not have to advocate violence. And everyone can join it.

The best way to have a revolution in our predatory capitalist system, it seems to me, is to starve the beast.

Here's some of what would have to happen:

1 - Stop going to work. This shouldn't be an issue, since a violent revolution would pretty much end your job anyway.
2 - Stop paying your creditors. This shouldn't be an issue, since a violent revolution would pretty much end your credit obligations anyway.
3 - Stock up on food, water, and health essentials.
4 - Organize and/or participate in non-violent demonstrations.
5 - And wait.

If we, as a nation, did this for a single week, I believe we'd have a real revolution. If we stop participating in THIS system - that is a revolution.

So before any of you commit to an old-fashioned shoot-em-up type revolution, see if you first have the guts for the non-violent path to revolution suggested above. Because I'd much rather stop shopping for a week, than kill our fellow Americans - even the scum-sucking thieves who brought us to this place. Besides - killing is a Republican thing, and I've had enough of Republican things...

1. Already did 1 and 2 a long time ago.
And because of it, 3 would cost too much. 4 seems pointless.

5 is my daily mode of existence.

4. See? We've got our first leader!
And don't sweat the food thing too much - I'm not going to let the people around me go hungry, if they don't have enough to last, and I'm sure your fellow Americans feel the same way (except for the Republicans, who will likely starve in the first 5 days anyway).

And 4 won't be pointless. Ever see 'The Birds'?

5. That so true, it's sad
but funny!

#1 - I like my work, but I work in the non profit sector (for a church and a social worker...freelance when I can)so #1 really wouldn't change much for me...

#2 - I'm so poor, I can't even GET credit. (can't even aford my own home, much less rent -my rent is covered by section 8,)

#3 - can only do so much of that, especially with kids in the hous - they eat EVERYTHING!!!

#4 - I would do, though I live rurally and connecting with people is not as easy as one would think...besides, the closest place to demonstrate could be the capitol. And poersonally, I avoid the mob scene if I can. Hoomans iz nutz!

#5 - I wait, and I pray alot, and I try to make this world better in my won small circle. but I think at this rate I am just a spectator of the global machine...however it runs amok.

2. I haven't said the 'R' word outright...
but I hope it's clear that my hint at Revolution does not involve bloodshed or harming anyone. Merely civil disobedience. If you start acting like them, and you become them. I don't think any of us want that.

3. I've been hoping we'd be allowed a peaceful revolution
This time, vote GOP out. All of them. Even the dog catcher who's actually done a good job. If he wants his job back, let him re register.

Next time, if we haven't seen changes, vote all incumbents out, no exceptions. I know we all think our guy is OK but your son of a bitch is the problem, but that's how we keep re electing scum.

Keep voting them out every election until the fuckers realize who they work for.

Then we'll start seeing changes go in the right direction.

6. If it were possible, it wouldn't be necessary.
You say "we as a nation", but you haven't really thought about who "we" are.

If you had enough popular support to make a plan like this feasible, you could achieve your goals more easily and effectively by simply electing candidates who shared your views. Without it, it's just a pipe dream.

7. That is sort of my point.
If people can't get together long enough for the actions I outlined in my post, then how do they think they could manage the violent kind?

9. Well, you know, we all want to change the world.
So let's do leave the house on Nov. 4 -- or earlier if you can vote early in your state.
