The Boy Who Cried Wolf

There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"

The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.

Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"

But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.

"There really was a wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"

An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.

"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!"

8. And Bush has cried wolf way too many times.
Even if he is correct, which I sincerely doubt, WE THE PEOPLE have been duped by Bushco, Inc. too many times in the past 8 years to believe it this time.

In a capitalist system, if a business fails, doesn't the market dictate whether or not another business takes its place?
If these lenders go broke, someone will logically replace the ones who fail. The economy may be bad for a little while, but the money is still in the system. It's not like it gets used up, like fuel. The money is still there, it's just in the hands of a few greedy bass turds who want more of it, and are not willing to let go of what they already have.
I do not believe any of these 'experts,' nor do I believe Bush. Not for a nanosecond.

3. I didn't watch but I am watching Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow discuss it
Chris Matthews is calling it "razzle-dazzle" and comparing this to the scare tactics of the Patriot Act....

4. I don't pay much attention to what he says anymore.
It was more fun trying to figure out why, after 8 fucking years, he still gets that deer-in-the-headlights look when reading the teleprompter. Maybe he just needs Lasik surgery.

9. he went full circle, he looks again as the deer in the headlights like when he went in there...
he's learned nothing, and accomplished even less. Sure he was prompted for the 'event', but he was hyperventilating, you could hear it when he'd intake a breath. I don't feel one iota of pity for him. He's a colossal failure.

10. I was only half-listening...
...then I got up from my work at the computer, stood there watching him for a few seconds, then just thought, "oh, shut the f*** up."

And what is it with him giving speeches as if it's a book report? Even after all these years, he still hasn't figured it out yet, huh?

I was just thinking today, and the only thing that will be better than saying, "Obama is president!" is saying, "Bush is no longer our president." What a sigh of relief that will be.

...every time he doesn't declare martial law...every time he doesn't declare the election suspended...I breathe a sigh of relief.
