4. Won't happen. Chucklenuts and KKKarl will string this out until |
|
after the '08 elections. KKKarl will NEVER appear before any committee, under oath, period. They will sue to prevent that from happening and, if necessary, will go all the way to the Supreme Court (and we know how that will go) but KKKarl is beyond the reach of any Congressional hearing.
The republics have already set the stage for KKKarl ignoring any type of a subpoena because he is a political appointee and not confirmed. (Not sure how that works - don't we pay his damn salary?)
It was mentioned on the telly last night that the administration "allowed" Rice to testify before Congress on the condition that it would not become a precedent for upcoming administration people. Apparently anyone in a republic white house is above the law, beyond the reach of hearings and especially the swearing to tell the truth.
Hope I'm wrong, but KKKarl will never darken the door of a committee hearing. Mark it down.

5. I'm pretty sure he can sit in jail |
|
if he defies a congressional subpoena, after all he is a citizen and is still subject to the law of the land. I don't believe that even this SC will save this asshole.

13. yes.....these are appointees, not senate-confirmed people |
|
and as such, traditionally they can claim "executive privilege," and refuse to honor subpoenas....then, to court, would take years. But, good publicity for us, because we can say, "what are they afraid of?"
Rice did not HAVE to testify. Administration allowed her to testify, because they were afraid of the bad publicity if they didn't allow it. But, it was agreed, when she honored the subpoena, that the "honoring the subpoena" would not be used as precedent to force other admin officials to testify.

They'll just scream 'executive privilege' and ignore it. Didn't the Big Dog do this in his little dust-up?

9. I hope a thousand times over that I am wrong but I don't think |

KKKarl will never appear before Congress - invited, subpoenaed or drug in kicking and screaming by his heels. Chucklenuts and The Cabal will claim "executive privilege" or some other such nonsense but KKKarl (and by extension, the Republics) can not ALLOW himself to be caught answering anything under oath.
Evil, corrupt, sad commentary of this White House but KKKarl cannot be effective if he knows he is under the threat of any type of subpoena. He works under the cover of darkness, backrooms and spewing lies at special meetings and conventions with pre-selected audiences who eat his BS up with a spoon.
I'm thinking our only hope of getting KKKarl is the Plame-Wilson suit. Maybe getting this smarmy snake under oath in a lawsuit will shed some light but until then I think KKKarl will skate on any Congressional hearings.
