Poll question: Justice Harriet Miers: Was Bush Actually Series?!?!!! |
|
You remember how Bush was going to nominate Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court, and everyone was all, "No way, he can't be serious, she's just a stalking horse for the REAL nominee," and then the Senate confirmed Scalito, and everyone was like, see, it worked?
In the wake of this US attorney scandal, I'm starting to wonder whether Bush and his crowd really were insane enough to think they could actually get his lady consigliere a berth on the highest court in the land. I mean, a political appointee is a political appointee, right? If Consigliere #2 can be the Attorney General, why shouldn't Harriet "Best President EVER!" Miers be a Supreme Court judge?
How about it? In hindsight, do you think Bush actually picked Miers at first because he really wanted her on there and he really thought he could do it?
