3. Are they going to administer a high colonic enema to Secretary Paulson?
...Congress, read our lips, "No Wall Street Bailout!"

4. Damn that McCain is good isn't he?
He just got to the Senate building a few minutes ago and he's already brokered a deal. :sarcasm:

I must have underestimated his incredible power or persuasion. All these years he's just been pretending to be a regular repuke interested in saving his Senate seat and making cash for his rich buddies but really he's more like Bruce Wayne.

This whole thing is really starting to blow up in his face and I'm loving it.

6. Judging by how he looks lately
I wouldn't doubt that he's already on some Xanax or Ativan.

I have Ativan (lorazepam) sitting here for occasional anxiety attacks and I don't like taking the stuff because it makes me way too mellow and zombie-esque. The way McCain has looked in public lately is like he just got a straight IV injection of 1 or 2mg Ativan and is staving off the inevitable, "Can I go to sleep now" effect.

10. Actually, I've wondered if he's been zoned for a while, now.
He's just too calm and like in an emotional straightjacket. That's how I am when I take Xanax. (I don't like the feel of it, either, but it does what it's supposed to.)

8. Please, please, please tell me...
that the Republicans have agreed to it as well.

If this is mostly a Dem supported Bill it'll be a political disaster in November. And yes, I care about the content, obviously.

The Dems better not have caved...

9. People realize that throwing 700 billion away is no guarantee that it will fix anything, right?
There is no miracle cure. This is just get away mnoey for Wall Street.

Yes, I'm sadly well aware. My concern is that at least if we're screwed either way on this policy wise, I'd prefer to have the Dems get a political win for November: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x196787

Not because it'd be a panacea, but rather because a McCain administration would be disastrous.
