About this "financial meltdown is the fault of the minorities" meme |
|
that is being spread right now via a whispering campaign on the right, I think our Dem leadership, and I mean old and new, all of them, from Dean to Gore to Clinton to Pelosi to Edwards to Reid to Biden and Obama need to come out and issue a joint statement absolutely condemning this in the strongest language that can make it past the censors. Seriously. If the bailout/meltdown is as serious as the bush admins says (and I don't know if it is or it isn't) the potential of something bad to happen or any unfortunate situation to escalate is way to great, and our leaders need to be proactive on this. Besides, although I don't know much about the specifics of the meltdown, I do know this is fear mongering and it is bull shit.

http://mediamatters.org/items/200809190021there are others as well, Thom Hartman keeps saying our current situation reminds him of 1930's Germany, and I don't think he meant stuff like this, but, it is scary to me.
