La. GOP lawmaker wants to pay poor women $1K to get tubal ligation... Hello Eugenics!
“State Rep. John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie, fears Louisiana may be headed toward an economic crisis if the percentage of people dependent on the government is not decreased.
His solution: pay impoverished women $1,000 to have their tubes tied so they will stop having babies they can’t afford.
The idea came to LaBruzzo after hurricanes Katrina and Gustav when the state was forced to evacuate, shelter and care for tens of thousands of people.
“I realized that all these people were in Louisiana’s care and what a massive financial responsibility that is to the state,” LaBruzzo said. “I said, ‘I wonder if it might be a good idea to pay some of these people to get sterilized.’”

He also want to PAY college-educated women to have MORE CHILDREN:

1. So let me get this straight
It's OK if we educate poor women to use the pill, or go get Norplant, to control their family size and better manage finances. But if a GOP lawmaker suggests that women lacking the economic means to raise children get their tubes tied, it's a bad thing?

2. As long is it is not made mandatory
a tubal is a good thing, and probably the safest, and most healthy way to go.

3. He wants people to help pull the welfare wagon not jump in it.
Fuck, doesn't he realize if it wasn't for men like him, there would be no women with children on welfare? What a total ass! There's nothing wrong with a woman getting her tubes tied if that is her choice. People like this little creep don't want women to have a choice. It wouldn't take long before there would be forced sterilization.

$1000? Is he serious?

For destroying all their future child-bearing?

What a joke, in every respect.
