The Republicans set the trap and the Democrats walked right into it....

demand more regulation and no tax cuts... then present himself as the great FIXER of our economy when house repubs fall in line.
If it happens, remember I said it and it's all a game.
If it doesn't happen I'll be surprised.
... oh and it'll all be in time for him to make the debates.

Our majority is tiny. We can easily bluff the GOP and force them to commit.

11. What if the DEMS just walk away... No Bill ...No Fix? |
|
Why do DEMS walk into these traps every time? Just say no and walk away... we don't need any stinkin' bill.

They should have called this demand for cash the scam it was right off and let the Repigs figure it out.
The Dems should have never had one single press conference over this unless all the Republicans on the Finance committee were standing right next to them real close.

This stunt allows the Repubs to distance themselves from Bush and to blame the Democratic "do nothing" Congress for allowing the disaster to happen on their watch...

My boss today, a moderate Rethug, blamed them for blocking the deal and it just may sway him to vote Dem this November.

the plan the President put forward. They send in a piece of paper with their 'demands' which includes tax-cuts, and less regulation and this helps Main Street how? The Democrats have said there will be no bill without the Republicans, so there will be no bill. The President's crisis is over.

most voters' eyes begin to glaze over when you start getting down into the weeds with all these important "facts", don't you realize there's a new Survivor series on tv?
All that needs to happen is for the headline to read -
Republicans Revolt Against Wall Street In Favor Of Main Street

that people purportedly hang on every word spouted by the media? I'm not buying it, and I'm no genius.
