Dear General Pace,
I believe that any 'pre-emptive' war is immoral. I believe that killing, either directly or indirectly 655,000 civilians is immoral. I believe that the use of torture is immoral. I believe that imprisoning people indefinitely without trial is immoral. I believe that the occupation of a sovereign country until they 'privatize' their national resources is immoral. I believe displacing over 1.2 million people from their country is immoral. I believe no-bid contracts that reap $billions in profits while providing shoddy services is immoral. I believe the use of depleted uranium in weapons is immoral. I believe the use of napalm and burning phosphorus is immoral. I believe the failure to safe guard a nation's historical treasurers is immoral. I believe secret rendition is immoral. I believe a country spending over 50% of its revenue on a military is immoral. I believe that that sending mentally and physically wounded troops back into battle is immoral. I believe that requiring National Guard and Reservists to return to the battle field 3 and 4 times is immoral. I believe that following a Commander-in-Chief who is more interested in funding the groups that are killing your troops is immoral. I believe that destroying a city for revenge is immoral.

In other words, I can't see basing a military policy on your personal beliefs when you, yourself, have based your entire career on immoral acts.

2. Where are you getting that 50% of the national revenue goes for
the military? Defense spending was approx 20% of the federal budget in 2006, far less of the GDP.

7. Past military?
That seems like a misleading table.

And it doesn't seem to support your allegation.

Leaving aside the larger problem of why excessive military spending is General Pace's fault.

8. You didn't go to the site did you? And I didn't say excessive military spending was
Gen. Pace's fault, I said it was immoral.

10. If you add in the 'black budget', which is estimated at anywhere between $40 billion and
$1.7 trillion, VA services, Nuclear development, Research, and 'supplemental' spending for our two 'wars', the military is eating our lunch.

I read a great report with a lot of numbers a few weeks ago. I think it came from Cato, but not sure that broke all this down. Can't find it right now.

The fact remains that if we do not rein in this wild military spending, we will find ourselves in the same situation that the USSR did. Totally broke and unable to meet any other financial obligations. That's what the article I read was all about.

3. Dear General Pace
I don't think this war is winnable. But it sure as hell isn't winnable with morons like you in charge. Get the fuck out of that uniform, you're a disgrace to this country.

Sincerely,
Bornaginhooligan

11. I believe that leaving our wounded in shitholes like building 18 is immoral. I believe that making
them wait for months for treatment, IF they get it at all, is immoral. I believe that promulgating a war based on LIES is immoral. I believe that giving the vice-president's company BILLIONS to squander, to line their own pockets, and not even bothering to pretend to fulfill their contracts to our military personnel is immoral. I believe that not stepping in when the situation at walter reed was first brought to light is immoral, as was not getting those bastards court-martialed.

and I believe that YOU, gen pace, are a completely sanctimonious jackass who needs to be "retired" at once.
