Preparing for the worst... |
|
So if credit seizes, fleet fueling grinds to a halt and lines of credit used for restocking freeze, what should we do? I'm guessing shops will be bare in days.
I've laid in about a month's food, just in case. Mostly pantry staples I'll use anyhow. I have no idea how to store fuel. I'm guessing I need a special container to do it. I'm morally opposed to arming myself for the Mad Max scenario. I'll ride this out WITH my neighbors instead of against them. Any other suggestions? I should get my meds refilled.
After driving across the south this last week, I have zero faith in capitalism to cope once disruption starts.
I'm hoping Congress will act at that point to establish some sort of liquidity to get essential services back up and running, but that will be measured in weeks at least. Fema is screwed. I suppose the regional Red Cross and food pantries will last a while, but I'm guessing days, not weeks.
Sorry to be so gloomy, but it is time to give this a thought or two. I mean, I don't get any hope from a Bush plan to "fix" the problem. From what I have seen, it addresses none of the causes, even with CEO pay caps and taxpayer equity. The system is still opaque, byzantine and untrustworthy over the long haul.
God help us if it hits in winter.

Sharon Astyk's blog? Or Survival Acres? Neither of them are "guns" kind of information of survival (at least, not what I've read).

2. The problem with the worst is that you never know what it is |
|
until it happens. Think of all the people who stocked up on cases of bottled water and MREs for Y2K. Yes, there were minimal problems here and there, but they were then faced with foregoing decent meals to use those MREs up before their expiration dates. Think of people in hurricane zones who stocked up on frozen food only to find out the stove and freezer don't work when the power goes off.
I don't foresee blood in the streets unless Magoo gets in and sacrifices everything to the Pentagon.

3. Don't buy into the fear. you are being manipulated. This scenario = Zero Chance |
|
The whole point of all this fear mongering is EXTORTION.
They are using it to loot our treasury disguised as a Bailout Plan.
That's why anything that would help ordinary people is being dropped from the plan.
Remember, if they were really to allow the doom scenario to happen
it would mean no commerce
No commerce = no money being made
The real PTB won't let that happen under any circumstances
