I'm so wet.... it POURED before he came on, but a huge crowd turned out at Mary Washington University.
The lines were long, and they turned people away. People stood in the rain TWO HOURS before he came on.
When he came on, there was blue sky and then it started pouring.
He said "Waitasec, I gotta take my jacket off..."
And then proceeded to speak for about a half hour.
Joe Biden was with him, and he spoke, too.
They ripped McSenile a new one and told us about their plan..
It was totally inspiring to see history in the making.

2. I saw the pics, and it was pouring rain. Police estimate the crowd at
26k, and that is awesome for any campaign, especially in the pouring rain.

3. I'm going to see both of them
and their wives tomorrow in Detroit. Can't wait! I've seen Barack three times already and Joe once, but I'm very excited to see them with Michelle and Jill all together.

10. I've got a freshly charged battery in my camera
and I'm fired up and ready to go! They've suggested taking public transportation because there won't be much parking available -- it's taking place on a main throughfare in Detroit in front of the public library. So, I'm getting up early and taking the bus down there -- first time I've been on a public bus in a brazillion years. Gates open at 11, but I want to get down there around 9, so I have to catch a bus shortly after 8:30 about 10 minutes from my house. I'm sure there will be people camping out overnight or getting there very, very early, so even 9:00 may not get me very close to the front.

8. Ok dumb question here:
My local news channels/papers are decidely right wing so don't 'advertise ahead of time' for Obama/Biden events - they cover them in 10 second blurbs after the fact.

I've been all over the campaign's website, no luck.

How do I find out if/when they're going to be in my area?

Thanks!

9. You can often find events on the Obama website
Check out events in your area by going to your state and then to "Find Events."

Typically, they don't announce events more than two or three days ahead of time.

4. What a wonderful memory that will be
I love that he stuck with it in the rain, and everyone stayed and listened.

Adversity builds community.

7. Yes, it was great!!
My beloved man is not a Dem, so I went alone. *sniff*
But there is such good energy at these rallies, I am not alone for long.
I met two lovely women there, and when it rained, I shared my raincoat.

13. I was there too! Traveled from DC suburbs with other moms to volunteer
It was awesome! We didn't care that we got so hot or so soaked or that it was such a crazy day. Just to see Obama in person inspired us all more than ever. His speech was a superb follow-on to the debate last night. We absolutely need to do whatever we can to reach out to friends and neighbors and help get him elected in November.

16. Three cheers for the Old Dominion.
If' he's rockin' in Fredricksburg, he's doing great. Virginia was one of the inspirational stories
on turnout in the primaries - form 400,000 2004 to over 900,000 in 2008. Heck the party doesn't even
know where all those folks came from. This is great news. Thanks.

20. I actually met the Voter Registrar of Fredericksburg
Juanita D. Pitchford....She was stuck at the security gate for a while and once she said who she was, (she was there with her granddaughter to "witness history", God love her) we asked her all sorts of election related questions, like about absentee ballots etc.
I also mentioned the absentee ballot problem that the repigs are sending out false and misleading absentee ballots and that people are being denied their vote from these.

She said that voter registration is OVERWHELMING for this election and when a student is changing their registration, she actually calls them and talks to them about it.

17. Crowd was huge -- 26,000!
There were 12,000 people inside the quad and 14,000 outside.

The rain did not dampen anyone's spirits!
