Specific question re: Greg Palast |
|
I see a lot of his work posted here (shout out to kpete and thanks for all the great work!!! :woohoo: ).
For those of you who've followed his reporting, would you say that he's on the leading edge of stories that make it to the MSM? Or, even though he seems to be a stellar journalist, his findings never make it beyond the extremely politically savvy readers?
I'm simply wondering how excited I can get about his reporting...how much hope I can have that, if he's reporting it, there's a good chance it'll eventually get picked up by others.
Thanks in advance! :)

1. He works for BBC in London. That is where his stories are reported. not here. |
|
He lives there because his stories are not reported here.

2. He's ignored by the MSM here |
|
but that doesn't mean you shouldn't read his stuff. He's pretty much dead on with his reporting.
I think you should realize that *being picked up* by the MSM should NOT be a deciding factor in whether or not to read someone. I'd say quite the opposite.
I'm more willing to read someone being ignored by US media.

3. I completely agree.... |
|
and I certainly will continue to read his stuff, as it will obviously have more truth.
I was simply asking if his reporting is a bellweather of sorts. That if he reports it, there's hope MSM will eventually do so as well and the rest of the country has a chance (if they so choose) to learn the truth.
Thanks!

4. I think you should follow him to be up on issues and to support |
|
people who report on stuff that corporations suppress.
His delivery has a certain 'tude - and though he also wears a hat his work is stellar and polar to Drudge. Drudge is a sit down gossip pusher and spreader.
Palast digs and delivers on issue important to citizens, not politicians and their owners.
I've not heard of him having to retract anything.

6. because his stories and those of other journos dealing w/ real issues and |
|
news rarely make the MSM is certainly no reason not to be excited by it! what it means is it's time for you to start writing letters and sending emails to the ditors and the producers of your media referencing these articles and wondering why, when this stuff is going on they're wasting time on long past their prime dead super models and no talent pretty girls latest hair style. the MSM is losing readership and relevance daily and they can't figure out why. we can help point them towards the clue bus stop.

7. He's an investigative reporter. I'd say that what he finds out, the MSM |
|
(by and large) will try to downplay or spin. They are too busy creating narratives to care much for reporting that contradicts them. Or, alternately, if they have to grudgingly acknowledge facts that are too blatant to ignore any longer, they sniff that those facts are "old news."

Seems like a hard working investigative reporter that has to have a tremendous amount of fortitude to take on the powerful people he exposes.
There's been more than a couple of other journalists that have been suicided going after the same sort of stuff Greg writes about.
I think he's a beacon of both courage and integrity and I hope he can continue to do what he's doing.

10. I'd say he's on the leading edge of a lot of stories that NEVER make it into the MSM. |
|
If you read any of his books, your jaw will just drop with the information he throws on you that you never heard about.
