I listen to the Progressive talk show hosts every day.....
I read DU and Huff Post religiously....probably addictively....they all tell me that this is a democratic republic. That I/we should write and call our representatives to voice our opinions. That just voting isn't enough. Well, we have done so. We have called. We have emailed. We have written. We have told them NO Wall Street Give-Away. And yet, they still do it. To say that its frustrating is beyond measure. Its enough to make a person give up. Flame away, but we give and give and give of our money and our rights and it never stops. They keep taking and taking and taking. The american dream IS dead. For most of us anyway. All we are doing is trying to survive.

3. I don't think anything short of massive labor and consumer strikes is going to do anything.

What we're seeing these days is government (both parties in Congress), the courts, the Executive, and the financial and media establishment forming a united front against the people of the country. They all prop each other up. They've all become one thing, really.

7. I don't think that's even enough. I think, honestly,
that a full-on blood and fire uprising like the French Revolution is the only thing with a prayer of cleaning the rot out of Washington.

4. Instead of No bail out tell them....
To raise taxes. That is what they need to hear. The bailout is going to happen. Perhaps we can get them to do the right thing and actually PAY for it. Again, just put a small transaction tax on securities. A 0.5% tax on every security transaction would raise $320 billion a year. Problem solved.

Good luck getting them to do this one month before an election.
