The Congressional Democrats should now produce a purely Democratic bill from scratch
If the Congressional Republicans disliked this one, they will HATE the next one.
But Dems have majority so its too damn bad. The Republicans have already stated that they are not willing to compromise, so they should be excluded. Then, let's see Bush dare to veto it. It'll be a Republican bloodbath.

BTW, someone on MSNBC just referred to Paulson as "pivotiable" as an accidental combination of "pivotal" and "pitiable". I thought it was apt. Get him out of town.

5. It should have healthcare relief, unemployment relief, restoration of bankruptcy rights...
restoration of the ability of judges to renegotiate mortgages, re-regulation of banking and other industries....
EVERYTHING we stand for should go into the bill.
Might as well, since the Congressional Republicans refuse to compromise, and we don't need them anyway!

Just pretend Obama is president, as you write the next bill.

They want to include a cut in Capitals gains tax in the bill before they voted for it
and loosen up regulations

I guess they were quite convinced that time was of the essence, and unlike McCain and the House Republicans were willing to put country first.
