Palin: "I'm Not Going To Pick A Fight" With The Media
Transcript of Sarah Palin's radio interview with Hugh Hewitt is available after the jump.

Note this Q and A:

HH: Now Governor, the Gibson and the Couric interview struck many as sort of pop quizzes designed to embarrass you as opposed to interviews. Do you share that opinion?

SP: Well, I have a degree in journalism also, so it surprises me that so much has changed since I received my education in journalistic ethics all those years ago. But I'm not going to pick a fight with those who buy ink by the barrelful. I'm going to take those shots and those pop quizzes and just say that's okay, those are good testing grounds. And they can continue on in that mode. That's good. That makes somebody work even harder. It makes somebody be even clearer and more articulate in their positions. So really I don't fight it. I invite it.

This afternoon, Governor Palin took a break from debate prep to pre-tape an interview with Hugh Hewitt, which ran just a few minutes ago. A transcript is below.

SP: Hey, thank you so much. Nice to hear your voice.

HH: Governor, your candidacy has ignited extreme hostility, even some hatred on the left and in some parts of the media. Are you surprised? And what do you attribute this reaction to?

4. Yeah, Katie Couric's such a buzzsaw
That question of hers about which newspapers or magazines Palin reads was soooo unfair! I mean, to expect poor Sarah to actually name a newspaper or magazine she reads was just . . . just . . . unethical. Yeah, that's the ticket.

6. Hmmm. I don't recall in any of my journalism classes anything

about asking relevant questions (oh, for example, asking her to clarify her statements on Pakistan, for example) being unethical. Geez Sarah, for some reason, I don't have much sympathy.

10. Me either. Never was taught that asking VP candidates simple questions was unethical.
Not when relevant to the position they sought. Perhaps at the collection of Monkey Wards journalism programs it appears she attended, she was taught that for journalists to ask their subjects questions at all was dirty pool. That they are supposed to write nothing but charming columns and pleasant profiles. Yikes.

12. I think she accidentally took the stenography courses.
Or maybe she attended the famed Pravda/Bush school of Journalism.

7. Huh. She knows the "barrelful" axiom, but...
...yet she still picks fights with the media. What a journalism student she must have been, for those dozen professors, across 5 universities, over 6 years.

Truly, Palin is our little roads scholar, doncha know!

11. She was probably coached in that one.
"Here's a clever little phrase you can use to appear demure and sympathetic when the media start to bite you in the ass..."

13. I think this is an important transcript. It sounds like a line of attack for the debate.
