is hilarious. Can't wait to see him. Last year he & Sean Penn were the BEST guests.

4. Gary is very funny, but I don't think he is good on this show... |
|
he seems to try too hard to try to find something to make funny and misses the point on the discussion issue many times. Sometimes he seems at a loss on this show.
He is one of my favorites for comedy but IMHO he doesn't do will with political comedy.

Your assessment of his last appearance is spot on.

6. I agree completely. Someone should really tell him. |
|
I honestly don't see him the same after seeing him on the show. Robert Klein came across like that, too.

7. Yeah, we don't want humor on the Bill Maher Show |
|
or entertainers. Why doesn't he just bring on Norah O'Donnel, Wolf Blitzer, and Josh Gibson? :sarcasm:

He wasn't funny and he couldn't offer any special insight or analysis, either. I felt kind of embarrassed for him the last time he was on...:hi:
edit: The Larry Sanders Show is one of my all time favorite television shows. Shandling was great in that. So, I don't have a thing against him- just him on Real Time.
Hey now.

11. Yeah. I don't like him on the show either |
|
He's a funny guy, but you're right. He often seems to be trying way too hard to be funny, and too often distracts from the question. it's one thing to make a funny comment about what they're talking about that's relevant, but Shandling doesn't do that. He feigns ignorance and constantly derails the conversation. his last appearance was abysmal.

12. No way you saw the saw show I did llast season. |
|
Shandling spent 80% of the show about himself and trying to be funny and failing miserably. Shandling seemed to have no clue what the topics were and tried to make up for the lack of understanding by poor attempts at humor. Palin has the same knowledge as Shandling and she is at least funny. albeit unintentionally. He really ruined that show for me and I look forward to "Real Time" every week.
