Mitch McConnell dodges debate

Commonwealth voters will not get the chance to see a debate between the men running for Kentucky's US Senate seat.

The League of Women Voters has cancelled the debate, which had been scheduled for October 7th. This comes after incumbent Senator Mitch McConnell declined to attend.

The group invited Republican McConnell and his Democratic challenger, Bruce Lunsford, to participate in the televised debate.

Lunsford accepted, but McConnell declined.

McConnell is the Senate Minority Leader, and this is a race that many thought McConnell had in the bag, but is now getting uncomfortably close for McConnell.
