Images of 2004. Bush walking with his chest sticking out
and an arrogant, almost evil shit eating grin on his face, proclaiming he had a mandate, and he had "political capital" to use because of his incredible victory (yeah, 51 to 49, asshole). Well, now it's 2008, and I'm seeing big wins for the Democratic party. Not only that, but an almost bitter disgust by Joe Middle Class about our current capitalistic system. Yes, Joe is still scared of the "S" word, but he knows things can't go on economically the way it's been going during the Bush years. So, question...

How will the Democrats approach the mandate after the 08 elections? How progressive will the legislation be? Will they really go after the fat cats, and give out a productive helping hand to the lower and middle classes? Or will it be business as usual, and like Bush, piss away the political capital given to them?

I'm going to be optimistic. I see big wins, and I see big change coming. We've got to have change, there's no question. The future of our country is depending on it. And from what I can see, the Democratic party will have to come to the rescue. I'm expecting some FDR moments from Obama, and I think he can deliver. Call me naive, but I think this is our time to turn things around. Even Joe Middle Class now realizes the Reagan revolution really screwed him over, and will be shouting for change from his soon to be foreclosed home. As the great Dylan proclaimed, "The times, they are a changin'."

1. the bully walk: Chest, bowlegged strut,
arms pumped outwards at about 25% angle from his body. I bet it is mostly gone. When is the last time they showed him walking around? Probably not in awhile since I bet he is stumbling these days from too much boozing.

3. I'd like to see a new Speaker of the House & a new Senate Majority Leader.
Joe Middle Class HAS been shouting for change. But Jane and Joe Plutocrat in Congress apparently can't hear. There will be an even tinier Republican minority come January, but they'll be just as loud and obstructionist and insisting on 'bipartisanship', which they themselves never demonstrate, because they don't have to, because the Democrats always make the concessions.

I hope I am proved wrong.

6. And he* claimed he earned "political capital" in 2004 which he intended to spend.
Looks like he gave it all away to his best buddies.
