1. I have yet to hear anyone who really understands this.
I am going to trust Barak Obama on this one.

3. The closest consensus I hear this is a huge gamble and there is not a good solution.
My retirement is hurting (I am retired) something needs to be done quickly. I tend to vote my own self interest.

14. Can't be understood intentionally
They are hiding the fact Wall St skimmed $millions off these bundled mortgages before they turned them to worthless paper

5. I trust Kucinich, and Kucinich's version of events differs from Obama's....
That troubles the hell out of me. Everything I've learned during the last several days supports what Kucinich is saying. Plus, Kucinich has been right about virtually every issue of importance to me.

Obama and Kucinich are on opposite sides of this issue. I don't trust Obama.

8. The House didn't pass the bailout.
The Senate is attaching the bailout to a tax bill which the House passed.

19. Thanks for explaining this
I too, missed how this was being initiated in the Senate.

So in other words we are getting this crammed down our throats one way or the other.

11. they will most likely pass it on Thursday....
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 01:04 PM by mike_c
Watch the Senate today. They will probably pass a slightly amended version. The House will do so Thursday. Bush will sign it as his first order of business on Friday, at which time we all become debtors to Wall Street bankers.

I hope like hell that I'm wrong.

18. Isn't it hard to believe
that at the time of the OP, the results were Yes-27%, No-50%, Don't Know-23% with 167,328 votes. Now two hours later the percentages are still the same, but with 231,058 votes. It just seems strange to me that the percentages would hold for so long. But then, I have a hard time believing anything I see at CNN.....
