GOP meme: Let Palin be Palin.
First of all I'd like to say that If I were Aaron Sorkin, I'd be insulted that the GOP continue to quote my show. But, back to the meme.

The GOP are pushing this idea that the VP debate will be won by the GOP, not because the expectations have been lowered to the center of the earth, but because average Americans will relate to their VP candidate.

"She's likable," they say, or "she's just like everybody else!"

These claims are borderline bigotry and patently false.

Yet, the GOP are repeating them knowing that the GOP-controlled media has the post-debate script already written to include tidbits about how likable Palin is and how much she is like average Americans.

I think we need to start mocking the ridiculousness of this latest manifestation of the GOP's cult of personality.

We still have a day to make something viral before the debate begins.

The GOP has already lowered the expectations, but we can still expose the lie that she is similar to average Americans in several key areas:
* wealth
* sense of entitlement
* basic knowledge (cannot name national magazines, doesn't know famous court cases, etc)

Oh, and her obsession with Ivana Trump. What is with that anyway? http://www.eandppub.com/2008/09/when-sarah-pali.html

Post your own ideas about how best to shatter the facade of the GOP knowing about average Americans.

1. Average Americans give a shit about foreign policy.
The fact that she tries to imply that "Joe Sixpack" is as flighty as she is is just insulting.

4. Americans know enough about foreign policy ...
... to know the names of the countries where their kids are sent to die.

Low information voters know which hateful responses to give when discussing "the French" and "the commies", but they're not so stupid to believe people can be defined by their government.

3. "In what respect, Charlie?"
which Palin do they want? The true numbskull Palin that "everybody likes", or the scripted Palin that can stand in front of a crowd and read the scripted speech from the teleprompter?

There's no pleasing these people! :eyes:

6. I'd like to know the Sarah Palin who reads a John Birch magazine, but ...
... is too scared to admit it to Katie Couric.

Why is Palin ashamed of reading The New American?

Does she also read "Hammerskin Press"? (http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?aid=310)

What other hate publications does she read?
