ok....
You know at this point you truly have crossed into fantasy land....
And I know what whatever you say can be truly be ignored
After all a healthy banking system is critical in getting the capital to START a business.
I guess it is time to either take a leap into the looking glass or ask if you actually meant what you typed...
If you did... WOW... JUST WOW

The Advertising Agency who employ numerous "workers" who do the advertising for the TV/Manufacture
The actors who are in the commercials to advertise the tv
The production crew who shoots the commercial
The people who sell food to all these workers as they break from their job.
It goes on and on.

commenting at how car sales were down, because of lack of credit, maybe so, but in the real world where I live car sales are down because no one wants a SUV or huge pickup truck when gas is over $4 a gallon, and wages are depressed, and insurance costs are over the moon, and everyone is living in fear of being laid off.

16. yes of course, and is is not only the lack of credit |
|
that is causing the lack of auto sales.
The inflation that is working its way thru the system (price of gas) is causing everything to go up, and people are just strapped for cash. That is a far bigger reason, imho.

15. They should stop the switch to digital in February '09 |
|
One reason people are buying new TVs is to get digital TVs before the analog signals are stopped.
All of those come from the Far East and contribute to our trade deficit.
Hardly any are designed in the US (except maybe for the advertizing and graphics on the carton), none are made here, and the parts content from the US is very low.

37. Once the switch to digital is made, the FCC plans to sell the analog bandwidth... |
|
to telecom companies. That's more money into federal coffers.
Oh wait, but, if there is no banking system because of a financial collapse that no one did anything about, where are those telecom companies going to get the loans to purchase the analog bandwidth?
So, then, the billions of dollars that the FCC is counting on from the sale of analog bandwidth is no longer there.
See how everything is interconnected in some way to banking, and the financial industry in general?

|
We used to have a set in the basement. One of those big wooden models that looked like it had drawers hidden in there you could pull out. Lasted about 18 years. Actually had it repaired at 12 years by an American repairman. Now, 4 years and toss it.

Hell, not even Walmart gives minimum wage. In fact they proposed increasing minimum wage.
Why? It helps them eliminate competition from local businesses. Minimum wage hurts your mom and pop stores, not Walmart.
