Did anyone see the McCain ghouls rubbing their hands with glee yesterday?
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 08:37 AM by Generic Other
I happened to catch a clip on CBS Morning of John and Cindy rubbing their hands like fiends. They had been pressing flesh with the unwashed masses and so had to quickly wipe off the "GERMS" with hand sanitizers. While I realize that such precautions are reasonable, it just struck me as an odd picture--the geezer wiping the people's germs off his sacred self. It seemed a symbolically laden image to me. The subtext so obvious.

If nothing else, it reminded me that such a "grooming" habit might be more politely engaged in in the restroom not in front of the very people whose Republican hands you just shook. Suggests that McCain can't even stand his own base. Guess we need an etiquette policy concerning hand sanitizing in such a strangely public manner. I wish I could provide a link. It was a surreal moment watching the ghoul like rubbing of the hands moment.

They looked like gloating old fools.

5. People should wipe their butts after pooping too
...but not on TV. Sorry to put it so impolitely.

It just looked strange for them to blithely groom themselves in front of a national audience...kinda like when Wolfowitz slicked his hair when he was combing it before appearing on TV. Gross television moments. Complain to the FCC!!! Worse than Janet Jackson's boob! YUCK. BLECH.

3. I don't fault anyone for doing this
Everyone should wash their hands after shaking hands with a bunch of people. That's not elitism; that's just common sense.

7. I am not disagreeing...but in private maybe?
It just looked bad. Like they think their base is a bunch of germy, disgusting, filthy vermin. Wait, they are! Okay. Never mind.

10. Well, maybe they could have been a little more discreet
Plus, they could have been more careful about their "EWWWWHHHHHHHH!" facial expressions. :)

4. CA MRSA (Community-Acquired Methicillin Resistant Staph. Aureus)
I had a wicked staph infection last year. I keep alcohol-based hand sanitizer ever where. If I can't wash with soap and water I use the sanitizer. I understand completely. It's not always practical to go to a restroom to wash.

14. I'm not a bacteriologist, but I do know what "nosocomial" and MRSA mean.
And I think they refer mostly to desensitization to antibiotics. Isopropyl and ethyl alcohol are anti-bacterial agents (not antibiotics) that I have never heard associated with nosocomial or otherwise resistant bacterial infections. The Purell hand sanitizer by my computer lists the active ingredient as 66% ethyl alcohol.

his doing it in front of those he just shook hands with. That just seems so incredibly rude to me. Besides as long as he washes his hands really well after that and before touching his (or someone else's) face or wiping his butt he probably would be just as safe from germs as he is just mingling and all the germs in the air.

Doing that in front of the cameras does send a negative message, IMO.

20. Maybe he will cut off his hand if he touches a liberal
Anyone game to see? Will he run for the disinfectant if he has to shake hands with Cindy Sheehan? Hell, the CodePink girls might drive him to take cipro and penicillin.

I really want a president who is scared of germs! Maybe he should wear surgical scrubs and a mask. Like Michael Jackson!!
