Driscoll says he's voting Rehberg

HELENA - John Driscoll, the Democrat who's trying to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg without spending any campaign money, took another unique tack Saturday: He said he's going to vote for Rehberg.

Driscoll started off what may be the race's only public debate by saying he'll vote for Rehberg on Nov. 4, because of the latter's opposition to the $800 billion financial-industry bailout bill that passed Congress on Friday.

Driscoll, 62, of Helena, stopped short of endorsing Rehberg, and laid out his differing views on the Iraq war and national energy policy.
