1. I have these attacks too. The flash of the nightmare. Maybe we need a subset |
|
of the Presidential forum called "Talk Me Down" where we hold one another's hands and drink copious amounts of coffee
I will bring a coffeecake.

a lot could happen between now and the election. McSame and Palin could keep yammering and hammering about "that one" palling around with terrorists while the Right Wing Media keeps talking about how we don't really know Barack Hussein Obama - all so Americans have doubt about Obama personally.
The anger over the economy could shift so that somehow the Democrats get the blame. There could be another terrorist attack or threat to scare people.
There are lots of developments in our nation or world that could lead undecideds and soft Obama supporters to McSame.
If all else fails, they could try to steal it and claim the Bradley Effect (or remind us of how polls were so wrong in the Democratic New Hampshire primary).
Now, you wonder why I am trying to scare you more when you are "freaking out' and asked for help calming you. You don't need to be calmed, you need to be a little worried - worried enough to get off your bum and do something to help Barack Obama get elected. I intend to phone bank today. I believe that we can make a difference. I believe a terrorist attack, the Bradley Effect and Election theft are unlikely, and certainly in the case of the latter two, the more support Obama starts with, the less likely these are to have a real effect.
Have a healthy level of worry - that is, enough to motivate you to work harder.

10. The opponent has cancer and he's 72. Last week it looked like he had a seizure onstage |
|
(he got lost on the stage, immediately afterwards, and had to be guided away) and just yesterday he addressed a crowd of supporters "my fellow prisoners."
I feel sorry for him. He shouldn't be working this hard.

fear is a paralyzing emotion. I have those thoughts, but I know whatever I focus on grows in importance. It's easy to live in fear, and while sometimes it's hard to do, I have to choose to hope. It's the only life I have, and I refuse to be afraid of it.

9. Everything will work out, |
|
everything is going to be ok.
There are things you can influence and things you can't. May you find solace in keeping a cool head and an eye out for your safety and your neighbors' safety. If you need something to do, a cleaning project always helps me work out a nagging worry. So does turning off the television and computer (if you can), and allowing the quiet to help ease my mind.
Off to take my own advice...
