You can tell we're in deep financial shit when someone decides it is a good idea to call ......... |
|
...... me for financial advice.
I can't even balance my own checkbook. Yet a friend of mine called me to ask about what he should do with his retirement accounts.
I steered the conversation to what a nice day it was today ..... how, even with the bad news, the sun is out and it is a warm October day. Things look very nice in the sunshine .....

3. That's the way to focus on this stuff |

Go outside. October is beautiful in most parts of this country.
Look around you. Nothing has disappeared from your life, has it? You're still barking your shins on all the stuff you've accumulated. Sad to say, it's not going anywhere soon.
Ignore the news tonight. Eat something nice for supper, and don't tell me you don't have nice things to eat in your house. Read a book, work on a project, listen to music, or send your brain on vacation with your chemical of choice.
It's only numbers. You weren't going to use it to leverage more debt, were you? If you're in the market, you still own all those shares, just like you always did.
Realize that things are likely to change drastically in the future, but that they haven't changed yet, so you might as well relax and enjoy what you have now.

4. exactly, I find myself outside in my garden more and more... |
|
talking to the plants. I find that although the water from my tears help the grow, the salt doesn't do them much good.

6. Or...come visit Detroit...and see how exciting and lively and |
|
happy it is here. :sarcasm:
The sun glints beautifully off all of the for lease signs along Gratiot and Woodward Avenues.
For some, it is their lives... this affected their jobs today

7. It's not a whole lot better here in NM |
|
where you can sit in a sidewalk cafe and sip your latte while you watch fresh faced recent college grads go from store to store begging for low level, low paid retail work.
My own area has 4 abandoned houses in a couple of blocks, odd because this area is still selling.

8. I went out for a nice 7 mile bike ride |
|
it's a bit foggy, but the colors are just gorgeous. The leaves on the trail took my mind off this global madness.
