The Dow was about 11500 on Jan 21 2001
and is now about 8560. That is about a 27% drop even without inflation. That means that in Bush's term stocks have lost well over 30% of their value in inflation adjusted terms. That should be enough to turn every member of the investor class into a Democrat or at least against the GOP.

Pensioners are especially at risk. Their income is coming down while their expenses are going up. Their savings are drying up. Even well off elderly must be beginning to worry. 30% in 8 years. Landslide anyone?

1. If Mccain keeps trying to sell cuts in Medicare it'll be a landslide.
