Just watched a mccain rally from today, the audience members were pleading with mccain, begging please, please stop Obama, they are SCARED SHITLESS of him, which is totally stupid with all the other scary shit going on.

They are making me extremely nervous.

2. I get a little nervous
Because of the right-wing whackjobs that have been involved in shootings this year. You have some seriously disturbed people who take solace in the worst rhetoric of the party. Dangerous stuff. You just don't know when the next one will snap.

3. Does Obama wear a Kevlar Vest?
I can never tell and everytime I see him on TV, I am nervous that some idiot is going to do something. Not to mention that McCain/Palin are telling Americans that Obama associates with terrorist, etc.

8. Kevlar won't help....
The more desperate they get, the more worried I get. The rightwing is full of gun nuts.

These fuckers are all over the place.... 2,000 yard sure hits, with a bullet that can pierce armor. Barrett 50 cal sniper rifles.

Recent reports suggest that there have been unconfirmed issues where black market Barrett .50 rifles are being used by Mexican drug gangs against police officers

14. "All over the place"... ? Get a clue.
They are NOT "all over the place". The least expensive model, the last time I checked was over $5,000. That's a single shot model. The 'real deal' is much more expensive. Furthermore, a 1,000 yard kill is a 1-in-a-million shot. Very few people in the world have the skill to pull THAT off. 2,000 yards? Pshaw. The firearm itself may be capable of it, but the hand behind it makes the difference. You are exaggerating every aspect of this firearm. Shame on you.

Any deer rifle has bullets that will pierce armor. Educate yourself.

17. "Don't try to teach your granny how to milk ducks!"
....as my daddy used to say. Don't talk confidently about something you know little about to someone who does.

First, $5 grand isn't too much to pay for a weapon if you have enough motivation. Barrett has sold thousands to people whose only motivation is to punch holes in targets. Imagine the motivation that McSame is planting in the heads of his faithful.

Second, the specs on the weapon read ..."effective range, 1850 meters... maximum range 6,800 meters" A heavy slug like that bucks wind better than smaller projectiles, so it stays on point-of-aim.
"In the hands of a trained sniper, the M107 can surgically take out strategic targets while minimizing collateral damage. It is capable of hitting personnel targets as far away as 1500 meters and materiel targets out to 2000 meters."
"“My spotter positively identified a target at 1400 meters carrying an RPG on a water tower. I engaged the target. The top half of the torso fell forward out of the tower and the lower portion remained in the tower.” 325th PIR Sniper"
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/m107.htm

"The M82 also is widely used for civilian .50 caliber long range shooting competitions, being fired accurately out to 1000 yards (900 m) and even further." "Even though the .50-caliber rifle is a military-grade weapon, federal gun laws treat it like any other hunting rifle, and Barrett can sell the gun to civilians. He says he needs to, because military sales vary widely from year to year. 'If it weren’t for the civilian sales, I wouldn’t be here. There’s a lot of defense contractors that would not be here,' says Barrett."
He has sold thousands of .50-caliber rifles to private citizens who, he says, want the guns for target shooting and big game hunting. No records are kept on who buys these weapons.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/01/06/60minutes/main665257.shtml

Third, a deer rifle can fire metal jacketed rounds that will pierce armor, but the .50 cal AP round will penetrate serious armor, such as on vehicles. Clean thru 1/2 inch plate. When the Branch Davidians fired a Barrett at the ATF, they responded by bringing up a Bradley, but that wasn't enough, so they brought in heavier armor. A deer rifle can't fire the explosive Raufoss ammunition, either. That ammo is illegal, so you can bet your ass that the wrong people have it.

Get yours today at: http://www.impactguns.com/store/barrett_50_rifles.html and while you're there, pick up the BORS optical ranging system, which includes the scope and does all the distance calculations for you and puts you on target with your first round. On sale for $1,400.00

If you're on a budget, you can pick up the low end model... with scope... for $4,109.00

So.... the .50 scares the shit out of me. The fucking screwballs in this country want to change history, and they can do it easily with that weapon.

5. I agree
what is left to vote for McCain... a good portion of it is honest and truly scared. They have been told for so long that dem/libs are worse than the devil for so long they really believe it. My husband has a friend who wants to buy more guns while he still can...I listen to some of the talk shows and they call in and think Obama is going to take the guns, bibles, make teens have sex then abortions...they have been programed for so long...I wonder what kind of break down they will have when Obama wins and the world does not end...nobody locks up all the guns and bibles and there is no country wide orgy of sex and abortions...

I wonder if Bush* is going to start a war, trying to throw the election to McInsane, just before election day. These are the people that won't take into account that Bush has never protected them.

16. The Neocons tried starting a war with Russia. McCain adviser went
to Georgia just a few weeks before Georgia staged a surprise attack against the Russian peace keepers in South Ossetia and shelled their capital killing (according to the Russians 2000 civilians) but what ever the number the important point is that it was McCain's adviser who is also an adviser to the President of Georgia. So McCain must have known about the surprise attack. The problem came when the Russians crushed the US trained Georgian forces like a tomato. The Russians claim that several US servicemen (African American troops) were found dead fighting for the Georgians by the Russians and the US equipment was confiscated.
So I think this administration and McCain in particular tried to start a small war and got a bloody nose before it could get too big.
This is at least the second time that a US planned small war has been foiled recently. The first one was in Lebanon using the Israelis and was meant to act as a Iran rehearsal for bombing Iran(and other reasons) Plan was devised by air force general so relied too much on Bombing from the air. The Georgia was planned by special operations and did not have enough air power so Russia was able to quickly establish air superiority and destroy the vast majority of the Georgian troops and tanks. They also captured and destroyed the airfields precisely to stop any reinforcements from being flown in by anyone.(meaning the US) Basically it just shows the incredible incompetence of some of the people in the defense department(Bush Administration) that the US Military is having to rely on. Many Generals in the Pentagon despair about the current situation and are only waiting to get their time in and get out as soon as possible.

20. I didn't know for certain about the McCain connection to the
US manipulation in Georgia and South Ossetia. I had read enough about Rice, Rove and possibly others being over there trying to stir it up, and of Saakashvili being a US puppet.

The Russians have the almost-home-field advantage there. It was almost certain to fail. The real failure, though, is of the US media in not digging in to this story better.

Thanks for the reminder of what they almost managed to pull off.

7. It's the same hysteria they showed toward Clinton
Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 05:22 PM by Warpy
which always struck me as delusional since Clinton was a southern conservative who was likely to give them everything they ever wanted.

This is the cult within the GOP that we're seeing. They are purely emotional voters who wouldn't know an issue if it dropped into their lap with a pink ribbon and a label on it.

They gain a lot of their identity and self worth from belonging to the cult, especially when the cult is successful. Any perceived threat to the cult is a personal threat since it attacks their self esteem.

The only way these people are ever reached is when they're buried in adverse events and the cult fails to protect them. Sadly, I think a lot of these people are about to be reached.

and the freeways, they are freaked in the same manner the lynch mobs of our yester years.

my biracial family has been living in a red necked kkk village for many years, so I am not surprised at all. they are extremely paranoid about the reality of our country. by the year 2042, white will be the minority in America. It is diabolical for the repukes to feed on this diseased energy. Can we stop it? no. Can we fight it? The only way I have found to be effective is to ignore it, give them our backs. sad

12. The Palin rallies are especially heinous. She is stirring up the
far right crazies at the rallies just hoping for something to happen, anything to change the status quo, which is horrible for the repubs just now.
It won't take much to set off one of these repub zealots who spend all day listening to the likes of Reagan, Hannity, and Limbaugh and believe all sorts of nonsense about Obama and the Democrats. To quote Voltaire: "If we believe in absurdities, we will commit atrocities".
Now many impartial pundits are saying that this election could be a bloodbath for the repubs, not only for McPalin, but also for the repubs running for Senate and House seats nationwide. Who knows how these people will react when they see their precious republican party being decimated at the polls?

15. Well they have always been that way.
They are just displaying it more right now as we watch the economy collapse as these are events which are clearly beyond their ability to understand. When such people are confronted with these situations fear is the natural response which is expressed with anger. But you are correct, when they get this unstable they tend to become violent and people could get hurt or killed.

But, on the other side of the equation, which again is clearly beyond their understanding, they really should fear not as their guy is going to win. It is a Diebold certainty.
