Unbelievable! The Today Show is doing a hit piece on Joe Biden, Saying He Isn't Really Middle Class.
That is disgusting. He is one of the least wealthiest members of the Senate showing gross income of $320,000 between his salary, his wife's and his teaching fees.

1. I'm still trying to get my jaw off the floor
What was that? They did something on Palin's finances the other day and never did they question her claim to be in the middle class. I cannot believe they did that.

2. What's unbelieveable?
Today = NBC = GE.

GE is a leader of the corporatocracy. The Today show is so far to the right it's not funny. This is entirely believable. Disgusting, but believable.

10. Yup. I've been referring to nbc and msnbc as GE-TV.
GE is part of the industrial military complex...guess who they'd rather see in the WH?

12. Don't forget though also
that the host Matt Lauer is a total himbo. He asked RFK Jr how his dad was doing.

20. The real story is -- There is no middle class
That's been done away with. There are the ultra-wealthy and there are the rest of us. Some of us have a little more money than others, but there is no middle class.

It's the Third World paradigm. Averages no longer make any sense. The people at the top have so much money that it skews everything.

As other people have explained, if Bill Gates walks into a neighborhood bar, the average income the bar patrons increases by about a billion dollars. However, everyone but Gates is still poor.

23. I watch the Today Show for two reasons. I will not watch Fox and need to monitor for myself
what is syphonned to the populace. The Today Show is the highest rated AM show.

Besides from their political crap, I find it mindless waking up crap pleasant. ie their cooking segments, celebrity interviews.

OMG! I sound like a masochist!

3. Joe Biden is not one of the Washington insiders
the guy commutes to Washington everyday, and he has spoke many times with voters and connects with them. BS on the Today Show, these are desperate measures taken by desperate men.

Biden my opinion is the best.

4. $320k a year IS NOT middle class.
Median household income in the US is less than $50,000!

"That is disgusting. "

Isn't it more disgusting that ordinary people could never dream of elective office? :hi:

8. Compared to McCain, Biden is middle class and the Today show is shameless.
They know exactly what they are doing with this hit piece on Biden.

11. Joe has never said he was middle class now. He is coming from the point of view of knowing what it's
like because he came from the lower middle class and hasn't forgotten his roots.

when she owns assets worth 1 or 2 million dollars.

18. So none of the men and women in the Senate are middle class...why single out Biden?
McSleeze and Snidekick are getting away with passing themselves off as regular joes, while Obama is branded "elitist" and Biden is branded "not middle class." The double-standard is infuriating.

Screw the corporate media, and The Today Show in particular.

Mr. BAPCPA doesn't fit the bill, imo.

that the election is slipping away. They may be turning on Obama. It'll be interesting to see if the reporters follow orders or risk losing their jobs.

13. Isn't his net worth negative $300,000 or something like that?
In other words, he owes more than he's got. I believe part of that is college loans.

19. That's astonishing. Just because he lives in an expensive home
doesn't mean he isn't mortgaged up the wazoo. It's well known he's not one of the mega wealthy. By McCain standards, he's the lawn guy.

24. It's HIGHLY unlikely that anyone "middle-class" could be a VP candidate
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 08:52 AM by Canuckistanian
And Joe never claimed to be middle-class anyways. It's classic strawman bullshit.

But considering that Joe's net worth is negative, while Palin's is +1.2 million, it's doubly bullshit to imply that Biden is a dreaded "elitist".

28. Joe Is Not Middle Class. I Don't See What the Problem Is With That
He is *FROM* the middle class, and he has done well, moved into the upper income bracket. As a US Senator and all the connections to go with it, if he chooses to use them, he cannot be considered middle class.

It's okay. There's nothing wrong with earning $300k a year. Geeeez.
