So... Our House Flooded while we were gone... |
|
My mother-in-law, an Obama supporter, came in to help assess the damage until we got back from our trip.
I spoke to her last night and she told me, "And it's not bad enough you have to come home to a flooded house, but your neighbors just put up a McCain Palin sign too! My God that's two awful things you had to come home to!
She cracks me up.

1. Sorry to hear about your home |
|
...but your mom sounds like a treasure!
Hope your house is back in order soonest. That goes double for "ours" (the one on Pennsylvania Ave)!

2. Thanks, we were very fortunate... |

The house itself is damaged, pretty badly, but insurance will cover it. (Tank on the back of an upstairs toilet ran and overflowed for 24-36 hours.) However, our cats are fine, and none of our personal belongings were damaged. So it's a major hassle, but not a major personal loss.
She is a treasure. I realized during this whole event how much I have taken her for granted lately. She can get on your nerves at times, but in her heart she's a great, kind woman.

3. I was wondering where you lived that you'd been flooded |
|
Next time try and arrange it so the toilet overflows in your neighbor's house! lol
My stepmom is like that. Gets on everyone's nerves at times, but she's an absolute dear. And it's a bonus that she feels the same way about the crew squatting in the WH, and McSame, as I do.
We're lucky to have people like them in our lives considering the options out there. :)
