My jaw dropped. A hardcore Republican colleague is voting Obama: |
|
I've had frosty dealings with this colleague in the past, mainly due to her not being able to accept me for being a Democrat. She has been much friendlier to me lately, and since I really don't begrudge anyone for his/her political affiliation I've been friendly right back. She sought me out today after work and said, "So who are you voting for?" I said, "Oh Obama, absolutely." She said, "Me too." I said, surprised, "Really?" "Oh, yeah!" she says. "Why?" I ask. "This mess we're in," she says like she's surprised I wouldn't know. She goes on to explain that she and her husband are both registered Republicans but there is no way in hell they're voting McCain, and that Palin scares them to no end. If this is happening here in my blood red workplace in my very red town in this extremely red state, it is happening everywhere.
Thought y'all would enjoy this.

1. It does happen on occasion: just ask Krazy Katie for Senate.. |
|
Catherine Harris lost 62-38 here in Florida in '06 which meant a sizeable number of Republicans thought she was as Krazy Katie as we Democrats did.
I was told by quite a number of my Republican friends then that they were voting for Nelson because Harris was a nutjob.

Alas, good people like her are few and far between...
The polls are showing Texas to be still very red...
But still, it's great that the scales have fallen from her eyes!

9. She sounds like she has a brain that works. Why was she Repub to begin with? |
|
Was it cause she grew up in a Republican environment?
