trying to convince you that your vote doesn't matter.

It's the oldest trick in the book to convince you not to vote by telling you this tripe.

McCain is going to be crushed in this election.

GO AND VOTE ASAP AND DON'T LISTEN TO THIS IDIOT.

If you can vote before election day by absentee or early vote GO DO IT so we don't have to knock and drag your ass out to the polls on election day and we can go do that to someone else.

I've worked a multitude of campaigns over the last five years and guess what:

None of them have been "stolen" - when you lose there's always a good reason.

If you work for the campaign, go door to door, have a good absentee ballot chase program, a good message, a well spoken charming candidate - you win.

4. High voter turnout is needed to overcome GOP disenfranchisement and fraud efforts. Vote!
And make sure everyone you know does, too.

5. We Just Don't Need To Win...We Need To Win Big
Mandate, baby, mandate. A lot of the heavy lifting awaiting an Obama administration will require pushing a lot of legislation through Congress and the less obstructionist Repugnicans to get in the way, the better. A big loss also will completely demoralize that corrupt party and I see them heading to a long period of "soul searching" as the various factions blame one another for both booooshie's messes and the loss...and I can't wait to see it start to happen.

I've worked on campaigns since 1972 and I've never seen a more together and motivated campaign than I have with Senator Obama. His supporters can stand proud and win this election on being on the right sides of virtually every important issue. The end game now is to get the vote out...and not to let a single one get away.

We're sponsoring a "voter party"...we'll have about 10 first-time voters from our area joining my wife, son and I to the polls on election day...and then off to celebrate our ability to cast that vote. Hopefully the party will continue into the evening.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I see a very positive tone around this place...getting stronger by the day...and it makes the concern trolls look more foolish by the day.

Cheers...

6. So
Ya know, you have a point... if we just totally ignore the fact that the republican's voting machines can and do steal millions of votes it makes it so much easier to trust the whole system.

Because, if there is no trust in the system people won't trust that their vote matters.

Problem is, too many people don't trust the system and we can't get them to trust it. Or can we?

7. Elections HAVE been stolen, & CAN BE again - best defense is to get out our vote IN MASSIVE NUMBERS.
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 08:33 AM by demodonkey

I have spent the last four years of my life studying election problems and working for their improvement. I am not a "tinfoil hatter" and I resent those who say that of me and many others who see this very real danger.

YES -- elections HAVE BEEN, and CAN BE stolen. But a true landslide is almost impossible to steal.

Get the word out now that no matter how far ahead in the polls Obama seems to be running, no matter how long the lines on election day, DO NOT STAY HOME. Vote. VOTE! Every vote will be precious in this one. EVERY SINGLE VOTE will count for us, because some votes won't be counted. We need millions and millions and millions of votes -- vote after vote after vote backing each other up. Steal one and a dozen are still there in its place. That's how we win 2008.

And no matter what happens on November 4, this problem is not going to go away unless and until it is corrected. WE MUST IMPROVE OUR VOTING SYSTEMS. So please support the election integrity organization of your choice, especially local and state groups that are struggling on the front lines. Do it now (even a few bucks or a few minutes of your time will help) and do it even more starting November 5. President Obama will need fair, accurate elections in 2010, 2012, and 2014 to make his presidency work.

GET OUT AND VOTE!

10. Yes, indeed.
Words of wisdom you have spoken here, demodonkey, and I pray your words are heeded by the mass of people we will need to overcome the electrons aligned against our democracy.

9. What?
Is that what he was doing? Calling us freepers? I guess I must have just ignored that.

But I think you are right. So why would he call us freepers? Maybe he is trying real hard to ignore the fact that all his hard work can be washed away by one blink of an electron in the vote counting machines? And his trashing us helps him stay ignorant?
