For anyone inclined to give kudos to McCain for his tampingdownery today ....... don't. |
|
You're inclined to do that because, like me, you're a liberal. It is what we're inclined to do.
But in the name of fairness, you really can't.
His campaign has been fomenting this sort of thing.
You know its true.
**HIS** campaign has been fomenting this sort of thing.
And only now that it isn't working for them, isn't suiting their purposes, they try to tamp it down.
And even if the campaign somehow caused Gramps to veer off course and go against his nature in wallowing in all this hatred, he **still** gets no pass.
IT
IS
HIS
CAMPAIGN
And he **himself** has not been above ordering a round of Innuendo for the house.

1. Point well taken. It is over for him, barring the October surprise. |
|
The base HATES that he said what he said today.
He gets no pass. And when Barack wins, the base will turn on him as badly as we have ever seen.
You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas, John.

I just sent this email to my sister:
"Did you happen to see the clip where McCain corrected one of his supporters who called Obama an “Arab” today? He’s gained a tiny bit of respect from me for that!
Of course his Karl Rove handlers have been promoting this idea for two weeks and he hasn’t stopped things…so I’m reducing my respect accordingly.
Oh gosh, I guess it’s back in the negative realm again. Too bad for McCain! He used to be somewhat respectable …Now? Not at all!
What a sad legacy for him!"
I was feeling a bit bad that I dissed him when he was trying to be "nice". But you slapped me back to my senses! Thanks!

5. No pass! None! He and his sidekick deliberately whipped their insane supporters into a |
|
fevered frenzy knowing the exact reaction they would get and apparently thought the corpoRATe whore media would cover for them and maybe even endorse them. Turns out they were wrong. Mccain had no choice but to try and put the genie back in the bottle. Courage had nothing too do with that.

6. So, McCain incites the public |
|
then acts as the voice of reason, to 'calm' the rabid masses, and completely deflecting all blame onto his supporters.
This was a calculated more, and a desperate, embarassing one at that.

7. And he let that woman believe that the opposite of "Arab" is "decent." |
|
That was unforgivable. And nobody has mentioned it. The only commentary is about McCain forced to defend Obama. While sacrificing thousands of Arab Americans and Arabs around the world. And I pretty much never agree with Arab positions on anything. But I damn well know that to be an Arab is NOT to be the opposite of "decent."

10. McCain thinks we are dummies |
|
I started wondering if he really had a conscience but... the news came out later that his pal was guilty of abusing her power in Alaska (bet they suspected it), and realized that they were trying to make their campaign sound a little more human or compassionate or... something! :sarcasm: amberlight38
