McCain's Next Steps???? Next Plan??
1. He has to spin Troopergate to keep sarah smelling like a rose.

2. His own base is booing him when he tries to backtrack on his hate speeches.

3. He has no advice on how to improve the economy and his health plan sucks.

What will he do next? Will he stop the town halls and just give his hate speeches and hope that the media doesn't pick up the racist screams from the crowd? Will he come up with a new rescue plan for the previous rescue plan?

Your thoughts?

3. Assemetrical Checkers...
Gramps may be done with the personal attacks, but his surrogates sure aren't. I still haven't heard from Grannie Barracuda if she'll put a muzzle on it. I still heard his talking heads last night still ranting about Rezko & Ayers and I read that the RNC is throwing 5 million into TV ads that "question" Senator Obama's character...including one calling him a "Chicago politician".

His toughest mess is how does he deal with Grandma? She's become a liability and this latest troopergate shit, while having no affect on his dwindling horde, is sure to seal the deal with many moderates and independents. The problem isn't Gramps having to respond to it, but Palin. Does she? And in what kind of venue? The fact he'll have to continue to babysit her makes her an even bigger liability to his failing campaign as time is running out and the political map is getting smaller. Right now his campaign needs to be hitting hard in 3 or 4 states a day...he can't do it with Grandma as an albatross. And he can't trust her on her own...she only makes things worse.

Expect him to launch all sorts of last minute "plans"...remember, he's told us he has the answers to everything. His inept campaign has gone into silly mode as they can make up policy to fit the moment and the crowd...and the flip flops have been so many over the past year, Gramps deserves an Olympic medal in tumbling.

Gramps can't afford to ned the hate campaign...or alienate those who are thriving off of it (hate radio)...it's the only bond he has to these people and he really can't control them anyway. So Gramps will play "good cop" and leave it to the others to spread the crap. What's great to see is how well Senator Obama anticipates and handles this crap...he never lets them see him sweat. As he said not long ago "I've been called worse things on a basketball court".

6. Make Joe Lieberman his running mate and say Sarah needs time to spend with her family.

 It couldn't be any worse than it is already.

He'd also fire his campaign manager.

7. wheels on his bus have fallen off - it's now the campaign to nowhere
1. troopergate: of course they will spin troopergate - while the report does say her feelings toward ex-brother-in-law CONTRIBUTED, the remainder of the "reasons" for firing Monegan were within the boundaries of her office.

they are already attacking "obama supporters" for the investigation and the results of the report.

this also raises questions about mccain's judgement as he KNEW about the troopergate investigation BEFORE picking palin. WIth the release of the report, it also questions just how "mavericky" is she when her actions are no different than any other 'washington insider'.

2. Fear and Smear, Bait and Hate: can you say "implosion"? After a week or more of 'whipping' up a hate-fest, McCain does something honorable by imploding. I'll admit he gets a tentative point from me for doing so, but it doesn't erase the hate-fest. I also doubt his statements at the MN town hall last night will cause the hate-fest to disappear and they will muzzle palin/surrogates from spewing more of the same.

Statements from the mccain campaign blame Obama for "starting it" - once again we have a repub refusing responsibility - more of the same, and yet another example of McCain not speaking for the McCain campaign.

Even if he muzzles palin/surrogates, and/or "chides" audiences - he's picked at the scab and now it's infected. I expect racism and ignorance to become more blatant and active as a spin-off from this and mccain won't be able to control it. these haters have lost what they regarded as a leader and that will fuel their hate even more.

3. Where does he go from here? Nowhere. He's run out of credible "hail mary passes". Anything he does from here on will be, at the least, questioned as being erratic and unstable.

Two big questions is whether or not they start attacking obama for rev. wright, and will mccain bring it up at the debate as he "promised" a couple of days ago.

8. Use Troopergate as the excuse he needs to dump The Liability from Wasilla, tap Ol' Joe...

... and go off into the sunset in a more honorable fashion than he will do if he keeps on this path.

However, at this point I doubt there is anyone in the RNC hierarchy or in his campaign who remembers what honorable means anymore, or if they do they don't have the clout to make this happen. They are so wedded to the Karl Rove win at any cost mindset that he and Palin have to play this one out together. I just hope someone can at least muzzle that pitbull before a human being gets killed.

Beyond that, I hope that so many true conservatives desert him in disgust that McPalin is left with only the small percentage of Kool-ade drinkers and no one else.

Hekate

10. McCain plans to extract as much tax free money from his campaign as possible
He will then buy his ninth house, fourteenth car, and retire.
